There was some interest in having a Ranger server for Battlefront and I would like to try to get things going. Who here can set up the server? I am a n00b when it comes to stuff like that.

The server would really be just so we could have a good time playing a fun game with people we know.

Sheesh, you are better than the marketing department at LucasArts. I might just have to get myself a copy.

I may be able to, altho I don't think my bandwith would support enough players for a game like that. Most FPS servers I have ran were 6-8 people max before it got too laggy to play, so I'll wait to see if someone else could do it better. Anyways, I would play in a ranger server if someone else sets one up. I currently play under the same handle as my forum identity; Eklectrick, so if you see me in there, say hi!

The pc version is suposed to be pants compared to the console varient.

A good game yes, but better for the consoles (more specifically the xbox) rather than the pc.

Stick with you wussy console games...PC will always be better for graphics!

hehe i wasnt saying i would only get one version

I was just saying from the reviews i have read that the console versions are better. If you are setting up a server that will have battles in my time zone then id be happy to buy the pc version too. I may not be on much but when i got some free time im sure i could have a good blast with you guys (time zones permitting of course).

I don't see any problems playing it on the PC. Some things are obviously geared more towards consoles, I.E. vehicles have an arcade style control rather than sim style control, the inclusion of third person, etc. But for me, when it comes to any FPS or the like, nothing beats being 3ft from the screen and a mouse and keyboard. I can't stand aiming with those odd little joysticks, it just ain't natural.

As far as graphics are concerned; BAH! I say! I never split hairs over graphics when it comes to a game. Gameplay comes first, controls second, then somewhere after storyline (if it's one of those types of games) comes graphics. That's why I don't play racing games on the PC. Sure it may look better on my PC than on the console, but I'm too cheap to buy a racing wheel, and mouse and keyboard don't work at all for racing, so I play 'em on my console.

And finally what the H-E-double-hockey-sticks does "pants" mean in that context?

hehe English expression for not as good or crap.

I havnt played the pc version, thats why i said it is 'suposed' to be pants compared to the others. From what ive read in my mags and most sites they have all said that the xbox version is far superior and fun.

I think that graphics plays alot in my gaming experience. This is my first mmo and before this its been graphics which has made me buy a game mainly. It helps me get into a game much more if the graphics are well done.

So does the x-box version have more (or bigger)lvl's or content or something, or is it just better graphics wise.

I bought it last night for the X-Box. Did so because I wanted to play my friends at home...

turns out, my school has a new "Resnet" software which forces you to login to get internet acces...of course, X-Box doesn't have internet explorer, and I can't get access. So, yeah, I'll play with you guys online.

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.

Probably more stable. Its easier to code for one specific system than to take into account any number of systems that may be running. This also leads to getting more out of an engine sometimes since you know exactly how its going to perform on 95% of the machines that are going to run it. Of course this is all straight out the box comparisons, after tweaking the PC version for your particular set up I'm sure it'll blow anything the XBox can do out of the water. Remember the XBox has a GeForce3 nVidia graphics core basically.

Personally I'd get the XBox version. My home PC isn't what I'd call a FragMachine(TM), for that matter neither am I. Anything that moves faster than Steel Panthers: World at War (yes the 2D, Hex based, turn based, circa 1990 game) and my underdeveloped "l337 5k1llz" come through blaringly..

UMM last time i checked the battlefront was getting Rangers some fixes/LOVE ingame??? SLACKER IN HAWTPANTS PLAYIN A CONSOLE THROW OUT!!!!

Seriously If it was Made more to the BF42 Net code i would be able to run about 20 peeps. But i tried a friends and pulled 8. Think it will have to go with a actual server rental.
