In last night's HoC Dev chat, some info was dropped about new creatures on the new planet... here's what they said:
Brannoc: *Zasm* quick question, what types of new high level mobs will be introduced along with the new expansion coming out for SWG?
Ronda: Glad you asked...
Ronda: we're adding about 10 new creatures, including some killer high level bada$$ creatures
Ronda: We'll be revealing the new creatures very shortly
Ronda: but one I can reveal right now is the Kashyyyk Bantha
Ronda: while it surprised many to learn, a subspecies of bantha actually does exist on the planet Kashyyyk.
Ronda: Among the most obvious differences of the Kashyyyk bantha were lack of a shaggy coat, and the lack of the huge horns that were often associated with the species.
Ronda: In place of horns, the Kashyyyk bantha had evolved a pair of massive, bony plates that were used as battering rams. Another difference was the feet of the Kashyyyk banthas, which were tipped with longer, more articulated toes that allowed the creature to climb along the wroshyr tree branches.
Ronda: you heard it here first!
Tiggs:cheers
Lord_Pall: Watch the trees!

Yeah, this got me thinking... Umm.. tree climbing banthas? Hope they look better than seeing malklocs or rancors standing on the side of a cliff upright instead of leaning as they should. Will be weird to see a bantha stroll down a tree like spiderman.. lol

The wroshyr tree of Kashyyk is a HUGE tree, kilomteres high, often containing platformed cities housing hundreds of thousands or wookiee.
The forest is divided into seven distinct biospheres, beciming more and more hostile the closer to the planet surface you get.
Lovely.

Do not expect the DEV's to stay close to cannon. You will just set your self up for a possible disappointment.
It is much better to expect them to foul it up. That way you can only be positively surprised.
