the cable company worked on the cable lines last WEDNESDAY and had my cable off for the repairs. No bigge i work during the day so it didn't matter to me. come home try to boot up swg and the internet is still down so i called my cable company. they said that it will be up and running by 6pm that day. 8:30 P.M. rolls around i call em again. they say they will send out a tech. He got here last sunday around 8:30 pm. The problem was that the guy that was working on the lines in the first place didn't hook mine back up........... How on earth do you work on someone's line and not hook it back up?! needless to say i wanted to have some "choice words" with the cable company rep. but i didn't. just a bad week without tv or internet in general.

Call and be an a**hole... demand some money be taken off your bill. If they don't, ask for a supervisor, if that doesn't work go to the next level supervisor. Eventually some supervisor somewhere will decide that giving you a small credit is better than listening to you complain. I used to just "go with the flow" but got tired of companies screwing me and then not fixing anything. So now I yell back.. and amazingly they listen 
Just have to yell loud enough. I pay $90/month for cable, internet, etc... if I was out three full days, that's just shy of $10... darn right I'd demand some money back... $10, heck that's almost a month of SWG...

Yeah, definately call and asked to be prorated for the period of time you had no service since it was their fault that you weren't getting your service. That's what I always do and I always get it. If the line operator doesn't want to do it, then ask for the supervisor. But you don't have to be an A$$, you can be respectful but firm.

When I had my cable modem first installed by the cable company the tech didn't do a signal test. Some months later I install my first MMORPG and I kept losing connection. Since it was only that game that I was having a problem with the cable company blamed it on the game. So, I installed another MMORPG just to see if it happened there too and it did. Then the cable company blamed it on a slow PC, so I had a neighbor bring his PC over and installed the MMORPG on his system and still got disconnected. So the cable company blamed it on the cable modem and required me to go across town and wait in line to get another one. This still didn't fix the problem. I finally got the cable company to send a tech out to the house and he checked the signal strength and said, "Yup, bad signal". He proceded to trace the line and found that the builder of the house had split the cable line coming in from the street with a 5-way splitter. Once a signal booster was placed on the line to my computer the problem was solved. I spent weeks not being able to play my game and even considered switching to DSL. To this day I hate my monopolistic cable company.

oh yea when they found out what had happened they credited me more than half of my bill this month. that is what kept those "choice words" from being used. They cut me off at the pass /snap fingers
