I havebeen thinking of some goodies for the revamp (note: this would not be the main chunk of the revamp, just a little content and fun treats). And I was thinking about the big K, and how impossible it was to get around there...

And then it hit me. Ranger Kashyyyk Terrain Negotiation.

We are outdoorsman after all- why should we settle for the limits on non Rangers when we know we can do better? I igure if our entire profession is devoted to being outdoorsman/hunters, and we invest SO mcuh into it, we oguht to be able to know how to get through a dense jungle. It would be especially helpful in Etyyy and the like, where speeders cant be pulled and their are often long detours around obstaclesto get to where you need to go. Sure, there would be limits, but it would still be very useful and VERY rangerish.

Anyways, was bored and just thought I would throw an idea out there. Lemme know what ya think- obvously this isnt "game breaking" like radar invisibility or stealth *shakes fist* but there could be an opposing argument i guess.

The invisible walls are my greatest beef with Kashyyyk. I HATE them . There are far too many of them in unnecessary places. I'd give anything to get rid of them! To be honest though I think it would be easier for the Devs to simply remove them than to code us ina special ability to get around them.

I'd like us to get some kind of weapon hindrence mitigation myself, possibly linked to terrain negotiation.

I like it.

Something, anything to get rid of those stinking walls! If those things weren't there, I'd go explore all the time... but as is I only go there if I need something because I can't stand those stupid walls!

... and on a related note, if Kashyyyk is so remote that we can't use the travel button to get there, then why does it have a space station well equipped enough to offer full repairs, have constant frieghter ships going to the station, and the best items in the galaxy require a trip there? The Empire is up to something sneaky on Kashyyyk.......

Getting rid of these "walls" would be the best thing that could happen. I really hate it when you want to cross a river and can't because there is a wall but you stand right there no cliff no nothing but have to move futher down the river to cross it.

definately.. i hate the invisible walls, theyre so annoying and for me, it really detracts from the immersion of the world.

however, i think that a weapon hinderance mitigation would be a much needed improvement as well.

LOL, ever try traveling by varactyl on Kash and typing a tell mroe than a few words long? You contsantly are checking the map and adjusting and readjusting and a tell takes forever to write out. But dont remove it completely- let the others suffer I say. Make it a ranger only skill and we can gloat from the top of mountains! Mu ha!

Only problem I can see is PVP, but maybe it isn't a problem, especially if you make the skill a Master Level thing. If I were a ranger in RL I would use terrain to escape for sure. Just is smart. Plus... any ranger PVPing is as good asdead anyways without a quick burstrun.

Hark now the drums they beat again
For all true ranger gentlemen
To shoot and then to run away
Over the hills and far away

LOL, well you have to admit we are well suited for it If there is ever any trouble, I have my hotkeyed rifle to unequip, then traps to throw, then burstrun out. Allways works- except on rebels of course.
