Im new to being a ranger, but one thing I see im missing is that Rangers need a trap that will do a Root on animals. Something simialr to the Smugglers concussion shot.

I know there changing the smuggler concussion shot to a mez shot because Jedi's are crying about the 30 sec root, but a root trap for rangers would not affect other players and would actually makea demand for rangers when people want to hunt bigger prey... I know from the description that the mesh trap is suppose to be kind of a root, but it does not last long like 2-3 seconds at the most... we need something that lasts 30-45 seconds...

The Adhesive Mesh trap is supposed to apply a +root+ state, but it has been broken since the CU. Note that this is slightly different to the various combat profession roots, as it unsticks if the target is attacked again.

As jasco said, our Adhesive Mesh is supposed to be an AoE root. It's broken since the CU and would most likely translate into a mezz instead of root post-CU.

I do believe however that we should ask for it to be a root trap once the Devs have time to look at our traps ( and get the action/mind damage traps reworked ).

Currently the P-dart is our most effective crowd control trap. It's a snare, currently bugged, so it actually perma-roots the creature after 2-3 sticks.

As the previous posters stated. The traps exist they are just broken.

As far as I am aware, the Adhesive Mesh (my once favourite trap) was NOT an AoE trap and DOES NOT break on damage. I used this trap ALL the time pre-cu and I always knew it to apply a root (not mezz) to 1 creature at a time.

This is somewhat in vain though since it does not do anything post-cu other than make a fun sound and blue light.

Yep is was only single target. I think you could auto-fire without breaking the +root+ but I'm pretty sure using a special used to break it. Oh happy days...

Ya it wasn't a Mezz, it was just so short lived that it seemed like one. When I first got into traps I tested the crap out of it since I couldn't get a strait answer. It didn't matter what you did, or what it was stuck to, it rooted for 20 sec (or what ever it was).

As for AoE, I think so many of have wanted an AoE snare or root for so long that its easy to confuse the issue.
