Thread: Anyone know for sure if creature to hit bonous is ONLY for range attacks?
Seems like no one knows the truth, and the DEVS are tight lipped.

Yes, I hear the Creature To Hit bonus is ONLY for ranged attacks.
Now I have NO idea why they did it this way, rather than just leave it open for all combatants ![]()
As a ranger who fights creatures using both rifles and heavy swords and axes, I can tell you that I notice no difference in my ability to hit whether ranged or melee. My creature bonus is +20 at the moment (+25 is max).
That doesn't mean that the bonus isn't only for ranged attacks. I only mean to state that I never notice a difference in my hunting.
Could very well be that the effect is not noticable, or that it simply is not working for anyone ![]()
When working with statistical probabilities like a Creature to Hit rate, it is tough to notice any difference unless youfind a person with the EXACT same abilities as you, butWITHOUT the CtH rate, and see if there is any difference.
That however is very difficult to accomplish without the assistance of a developer.
My two creds go towards it not working for anyone though...
I got Hunt Master last night and the + creature to hit bonus moved me up a difficulty level. Womp Rats turned blue on me and I con lvl15 creatures as white now.
This is with a pistol equiped so I'm not sure if it only effects ranged combat.
