Ranger Archive

im thinking abotu venturing into ranger, but my main reason would be for the traps. I talked to a scout the other night and he informed me the traps are ineffective. I read the patch notes and it does not really adress issues with ranger traps not working. Is this true? Also what do the two traps in the ranger field do???
