Thread: Rescue Question...
I'm new to the Ranger profession, and have a couple quick questions regarding the Rescue skill.
How do I use Rescue? Do I target the character I want to rescue, or do I target the creature I'm trying to rescue them from?
When rescue is done correctly, does it display any sort of message saying your rescue attempt was succesful or failed?
If you can help clear this up, I'd appreciate it.
To /Rescue....
Select a character that is currently being attacked by a mob, click your /Rescue Ranger button and then after a second or two... you will start to wave your hands.... if the mob aggroes on to you... it will just charge you or start shooting you....
If you fail... you'll get a message that XTarget is not distracted by your actions (or something similar)..
However be warned that clicking the /rescue icon is akin to clicking the /headshotSelf3 icon as they generally do the same thing.
Thats not to say you can't have fun with Rescue ![]()
Try this out for fun (although be prepared to get cloned)....
You know those pesky bounty hunters that are always fighting in town?
Next time you see a bounty hunter fighting a pc... try to rescue the Bounty Hunter and get between him and the mob... eventually the mob will start fighting you and the Bounty Hunter will freak out... and ask you what you are doing....
That is when you reply....
"The Hutts didn't think you could handle the job... so they sent me to clean up your mess."
and then you can have a little laugh... on the inside.... as you lay there.... incapacitated....

Target player to rescue
/rescue
OR
/rescue <player name>
....
It does work occassionally, but most often the creatures will reaquire the victim after a 2 second delay and continue attacking.
