What is the advantage of using a flash bomb over a simple sharp bone spur? They both blind, and for about the same length of time, but the flash bomb uses a great many more resources.

I thought that flashbomb was an AOE trap, but I haven't really noticed this. Plus if it were, it seems that this would be a DIS advantage since, as we all learned from EverQuest, AOE is detrimental to crowd control.

Flash Bomb IS an Area Effect trap. It is quite handy when using against a swarm of beasts.

Remember each beast in the proximity gets its own chance to evade the trap, so even if you get a message stating your target was not affected, any other beasts around it may have been.

I never thought about it until a few days ago, but isn't funny when you think about what the bone spur is actually doing when. You take this pointy bone thing and freaking throw it right in thecreatures eye. Since Irealized that I've been using them a lot more lol. I wish I could throw that well irl, I'd be like crocodile dundee or something.

The Sharp Bone Spur damages health and mind. I think the Flash Bomb is just mind. I am a pistol weilder so I like anything that takes health. I didnot kow about Flash Bomb being AOE.

Question:

On the area of effect traps, do you get trapping XP for each monster the trap successfully effects or just the targetted one?

I wonder. But moreover I wonder do you get the aggro of creatures who would otherwise not have attacked?

You only get experience for the target you throw it at. Meaning if it failed to affect that creature, you don't get experience at all, even if it affects the other creatures.

As for aggroing any surrounding creatures, I can't tell ya. The times when I need to use it, all the creatures are aggro on me anyways.
