I think we definately need a invisibility/hide/camo type ability, whatever you want to call it, but it would remove are dot from the radar and make us virtuly "invisible".

We need a track ability, to track anything, we dont go get the bounty we just take you to it....

Speed, not to relate to EQ but shouldnt we be able to run faster, normal movement not burst speed? A SoW ability (Spirirt Of the Wolf = 30% increase in movement) is a perfect example. I dont wanna move faster while crawling, which rifleman get anyway! oh... wait riflemen can use theres while holding a rilfe what we would be doing anyway.

Being able to forage foods and items not availble to anyone else, i have seen the food that we can forage it sux, it is good to feed to my pet thats it.

If you want anyother insperation just look at Rangers from EQ or UO or Movies or etc, etc...

seriously i dont want more combat ability, i dont even like combat but i would like to do the things that rangers are good at...or suppossed to be good at. and that is Hiding, Tracking, Foraging, general movement.

Thank you,

Your an "in-the-box" Ranger. Please don't be. Think outside the "box". This is SW. Not EQ, UO, et al. There are gadgits to help us. The physics really should not include "magic", unless you are a Jedi. If you still need a "box" go research Army Rangers and midieval "Wayfairers". I'd even entertain the Aragorn model somewhat, but more like a mix of these. Something like a Bedowin and a big game hunter, little bit of Spec Ops sprinkled in. It has been address already elsewhere, but we pretty much all feel the scout class progresses a tad too fast for terrain travel compaired to rangers, which is the core of the problem you are trying to get to. You might want to read some of the older posts

Ranger is not a profession. It's a lifestyle.

Im a struggling Ranger myself. I started out Marksman/Brawler, but have since changed over to Scout/Ranger cause I was spending some much time out in the far reaches of the maps. I now enjoy finding and Waypointing Big Game creatures for my PA for us to hunt.

What Ive noticed is that as Rangers we dont have alot of special abilities. I think I read somewhere that the DEVS have some good things coming our way, but I dont know what they are. My hope is that they/we can develop the Ranger as some type of non-combatant type trapper/killer/hunter/ proffession that all the other classes will turn to when they want XP or resources from the Big Game type creatures. As it is right now, other proffessions have more skill and are more effective at doing the things that our proffession is known for doing.

If the skills were available, I envision my character as a Hunter/Guide for thrill seekers and those who want to see far away places in hostile environments. Other classes should be coming to us to locate, trach, and kill any type creature in the most effecient matter and with a high success rate.

Anyway, Im starting to get carried away. Just some Ideas.

I like the idea of being a tracker/guide/hunter. It would be nice to be able to track down certain creatures and to lead others to places somewhat safer than they could get themselves there.

Possibly when mounts are available allow are ranger to make a 'train' of mounts. He would ride the lead mount and others would ride other mounts that would follow the lead mount (just a thought). The Ranger would then be an 'outfitter' of sorts and guide others with less wilderness experience though rough/dangerous terrain.

Yes I agree with this topic we should get at Wayfaring 4 the ability to go invisible for a time period being removed from the radar or at least master ranger level. We as Rangers should get more bonuses than what we are getting now...............oh...look what a pretty camp how cute.
