Thread: My ideas for rangers. (some new, some old)
Here are my ideas for making a clearer distinction between Rangers and Scouts. (not all Ideas are origanal but I think they are all good ones.)
Hunting.
1. Harvest a more than 1 rescource at a time or signifigantly better quality of rescources.
2. Give us bonuses to hit period. not just creatures.
3. Give us better defense mods vs creatures. Since we seem to know so much about creatures, it would only make since that we know how they attack and thus knowing how to defend against those attacks.
Trapping
1. Make our traps work!
2. Make our traps work against humaniods. Humans are creatures too.
3. I'd like to see our traps stack together. If i make 20 of one kind of trap, I'd like to be able to only have one stack of 20 instead of 5 stacks of 4 or whatever.
Wayfaring
1. the crawling speed bonus is an insult to us. We should get default movement speed bonuses
2. Maskscent needs to be revamped. would be nice if it was a little more reliable
3. give us /conceal back
Frontiering
1. Semi permanent camps. they would stay up as long as we were logged on and on the same planet.
2. To go along with number 1. cloning facility on the high tech field camp.
3. Foraging = xp. also fix the foraging inventory bug
Heya Kaz,
It seems to me that with training in the Field Bioscience line, we should be the class most capable of killing any creature in the game.
"A Ranger of this skill level knows exactly where to place a shot to bring a creature down."
Anyone else think this means we should at least have a chance to one shot kill creatures?
Aside from the camps, doesn't it seem like the ranger class should be the 'base' class, and the scout class is more of the 'elite' class?
Basic trapping gives us 7 traps, but advanced trapping only gives us 2 traps??
Exploration increases run speed, but wayfaring only increases crawl speed?? (i'm not going to touch camo, since mask scent is broken)
Hunting and bioscience give the same bonuses...
Survival gives us 2 camps and forage, Frontiering gives 2 camps(although superior ones)
If you could only be one of these classes, either a ranger or a scout, who would honestly pick ranger?
Rangers, all around, just need more.
