Thread: Camps not healing, traps not giving feedback, prone posture shoots me backward...
I have been looking for a list of known bugs to no avail, and these pages load very slowly for me. So would someone mind telling me what's going on with my rangerliness? As I type, i have been sitting in a high quality, .85 healing camp for 18 minutes and my health bars have barely budged. Why waste the resources on the uber camp if the others seem to do just as well? Someone told me that the healing effect of camps is bugged. Is that true?
So, I finally get a flash bomb. Yeeha. Three out of five uses so far gives me no feedback, failure/success/ etc. Masked scent still befuddles me. I have been killed in my campsite by previously off-radar shaupauts. There I am..dead...but my masked scent was still "working". And er, no, I wasn't macroing. I was taking a smoke break. Really. I swear.
Anyone else flying backward whenever you get into prone? I thought maybe this was lag but I can get in range, lie down...weeee, out of range and do the whole thing over three or four times, getting zipped to the same spot. I can kneel first, then prone okay.
Finally, you know those little information tabs that come up while the game is loading? Well one of them tells me that scouts, not even rangers, but scouts are supposed to be able to harvest off corpses already harvested. Even in party, I can't get hide off a corpse that someone took bone off of. Was this an intended feature that never made it?
the cover bug is only fixable by going into cover over and over, getting up and trying to walk till eventually your normal speed returns... EXTREMELY IRRITATING.
BUMP!
Dear Ranger Corespondent:All of these need fixing as well please add them to the list.
Thanks for the feedback...yes, I forgot about the cover thing. Oy. Not sure how that is supposed to work either. I use it, I get targeted almost immediately, then can't do any actions and limp/hobble until I reboot or die. I feel your pain.
Some of you wrote in other threads about being able to pick up the camp datapad so you can walk away and either return or disband at a distance. That doesn't work for me. i think it's a great idea to be able to come in and out of your camp if you are getting beat up repeatedly during a mission. Kind of makes sense too. But I get the "abandonned" message regardless and no points if I'm off screen.
I've heard that if you go for a swim, the slow down bug from /takecover will fix itself.
The rubberbanding. The workaround is when you go prone, you get snapped back a few meters. Well, I guess this is where the Wayfairing line comes in. Just crawl back to where you were when you weren't prone, and crawl around that way.
The ranger traps haven't really worked for a long time, but who really wants Area of Effect traps anyway. I know I don't. As far as camps not healing, I don't notice it too much. Sometimes the issue with your bar moving slowly could be, you have too much Battle Fatigue, or that there is a UI bug, where your stats aren't showing correctly at all (i.e. you may be at full mind, but the bar shows half, or worse, you may be at 1 mind, and your bar shows full)
The swimmimg has worked for me to clear the cover bug.
And I never had these problems until I became a ranger as well, i.e. not as a scout.
1. Yes, I've been banding on prone drops. Pisses me off royally. I've resigned myself to kneeling always. Yes, I'm a ranger. I asked my other guildmates and they say it never happened to them. We have one other Ranger in the guild, but I have yet to talk to him about it.
2. Camp healing. As I understand it, you heal at the same rate everywhere. The bonuses of .65 or .85 are bonuses to HEALERs. They heal for higher and better while in your camp. Anyways, that's what I always though.
3. Your bars not moving. There is a known and current bug that doesn't update your HAM bars. Also another bug that lowers your stats (and affects you). Best thing that works for me 95% of the time is to eat some food. That should reset your stats immediately.

Wow I've had the prone problem for a couple weeks now, and I always attributed it to lag until I wondered why it never happened when I would kneel down. Is this only a ranger problem? I know it never happened when I first started playing so one of the updates did in fact cause this. I really hope they fix it soon, its a hugeproblem not being able to use your most accurate shots.
Interesting thought... I just made novice ranger this week, and never had this problem as a scout.
