Thread: Glow-Wire trap increasing Bleed damage?

I havn't collected the hard numbers yet, although I plan to...but I *think* the Glow-Wire trap(and probably the Wire Mesh in kind) causes Bleed damage to be much higher. I'm a pistoleer/ranger combo. Last night, unless it was my imagination, I noticed my healthshot1,2 combo doing significantly more damage if I had first nailed the critter with a Glow-Wire trap.

Now, this seems nice, but I gotta wonder if its fully intended if this is the case since Bleeding isn't really a ranged or melee attack, its more of a consequence. Anyone else encountered similar results?

hmmm interesting information and I'll definitely check this out tonight .

I get extremely reliable and consistent damage with my DLT20A on my MS I , II combo so I will be able to notice any difference right away .

My MS I is always around 350 - 450 and my MS II is always around 750 - 850 sometimes a BIT higher but not much . So , I'll check back in later and post results . Thanks for the tip and good hunting

Ok I gave this a thorough test .

My method = Target is a Male Snorbal Calf on Lok , has around 5k ham bars . Gives about 2k XP for killing . So in the medium / hard range . Target was fired on with a DLT20A at optimum range ( as close to 45m as possible - I did not count any results from shots fired below 40 or over 50 m ) . 20 of each Mindshots I and II were fired onto Snorbals with no traps , and another 20 of each Mindshots I and II were fired while the Snorbal was under the effect of a Glow Wire Trap .

Results ......

Average Mindshot I damage without trap = 394

Average Mindshot II damage without trap = 559

Average Mindshot I damage with trap = 417

Average Mindshot II damage with trap = 541

So , those numbers speak for themselves . The average damage on the Mindshot II while the Snorbal is under the effects of a Glow Wire Trap is actually lower . The MS I damage while trapped is slightly higher but by such a small amount it's trivial .

Too bad , I was hoping the P.Dart wasn't going to be the only trap that DIDN'T suck ass . Worth a try tho ....

Good hunting all

I don't know about bleed damage, but I notice that with Glow-wire trap, I can scare yellow/red mob easier. Without it, my threaten/warning shots do not stick as well as after glow-wire.
