I have seen bosses pop out sometimes.. like the occasional Graul Mangler.. but I was hunting fynocks on Talus last night and I popped this lair and out come SEVEN bosses.


There were six Frenzied Fynock Guardians and one Fynock Glutted Queen. Wild. I have never seen that before. These were wild lairs, and I had already pulled tons of regular fynocks and jungle fynocks out of them.. but when I destroyed the lair out came this wave of "bosses".

I probably hit 8 lairs last night and the first 5 had the same thing happen (except one had 6 feared fynock youths instead of guardians). Then it stopped, and the 4 or so I popped this morning it didnt do it either.

Nope that was a new one for me. I am really glad it only happens on the lower level mobs. Heh... 6 or 7 Gurks, picketts or Grauls popping out would give me a heart attack.

Been steadily killing fynocks most of the day and it's the rare mound, random spawn, that doesn't poop out the bosses at the end.

Worse, the queen can and will DB. Find her and wax her first.

And wait til you meet Mr. Boss Sharnaff. Not pretty, you being all fat dumb and happy shooting a lair and he pops out.

Just wanted to let you know, JB.. I probably anihalated a couple hundred rasps during my fynock adventures as well.

Harvesting avian on Talus are you? Gee, how did I guess??

And rasps are feeling my wrath also.

Oh, you can get fynock missions, or I can, by being unarmed or equipping a weapon you are not qualified in. Its the little ones, but meat is meat, and I ofter find better lairs nearby.

Speaking of lairs.I had a lair just yesterday ( random spawn) just do set after set after set, 6 or 7 in all, 4 torturs per set; a bull, two torturs and a meager. I was loving life, as I was out hide hunting. The noob with me made 5 levels on this one lair, if you count scout (exploration and wayfairing), pistol (II and III) and a rifle level (I can't teach rifle). And he almost leveled in combat xp for ranged.

Best lair I have seen in forever. I was a happy camper and sowas the tailor I was supplying.

Wild lairs rule.

Yeah.. completely unarmed or with some crappy pistol in my hand I can get the fynock youth missions, but they are hardly worth going back to town for. I have had no trouble tracking for the larger fynock lairs and I was pulling about 800units of meat out of each one... 29-31 units per fynock, with the odd annoying baby thrown in.

My own personal lair record was 27 crazed gurrecks out of one wild lair on Endor (give or take a gurreck) at 105 hide each.


I really need to do some tests with some non-Ranger friends to see how much more I am harvesting. I used to think it was just like 40% or 50% more, but its starting to look like almost twice as much as my Hunting IV buddy. That seems high though.
