Thread: My very own New Ranger Idea Thread

But I don't think this is new...I just put my version of it together. I had posted this another, but pulled it out here and edited just a hair. This is my version of what /track should be.

I like the idea of a ranger being able to spawn one [rare uber creature..i.e. Gorax], but not directly in front of them (maybe randomly inside a 1000m radius circle) and only on Endor[based on the Gorax, but planet specific for other creatures]. I would expect a nasty limit on spawning these guys, something like 1 or 2a week. I would hate to see the Gorax ruined by camping if they get out back. I would also plug a whole line of uber creatures that Rangers could spawn in the same system. But alas, I never expect this to happen, and I wish we had gotten it in to Outdoorsman Concept, but a leezrad can dream, can't he?

So it doesn't make too much sense unless you keep it in the context of Gorax being the creature I was talking about. Am I a moron (I am but, I mean specifically for this idea) or what? Let the comments flow.

Ok I made sure I checked the date of this post this time LOL.

As for the idea, I'm indifferent. It doesn't sound baaad, but it's definately not something I would care about one way or the other. I just don't feel that Rangers can "create" beasts (if I'm reading the post right).

I don't know, this sounds just like the proposed /track command to me.

I always envisioned /track working by the Ranger typing "/track <creature name>" and it then if you are on the planet where that creature lives, it would spawn a lair of that creature and give the Ranger a waypoint to it. Of course, with the higher level creatures, there would be a chance that you would fail and if you tried to /track krayt dragon on Tatooine, you would get to the waypoint and discover a lair of womp rats.

The Gorax thing would be similar, like typing "/track Gorax" on Endor would either give a waypoint to a Gorax lair or in the case of a failure, would lead you to a lair of something else.

Just my opinion of course, thanks for reading.

I did add an item to the /track request in the SotP for the ability to spawn "rare" creatures.

This is kinda on the same track except it deals with player tracking. I just got the player track skill today during my lunch break and used it in the middle of Coronet. The resulting list of players was astounding and almost overwhelming. What I would like to see is to have the players that are in either your guild or group to have the font color changed so that I could spot them easier. This would be especially helpful when I'm in a group and I need to find someone that has wandered off and there's other groups nearby.

Just a thought.
