Thread: Master Ranger and...

I'm currently 2/3/3/3 Ranger and going for Master Swordsman. Is there something else that pairs better with Master Ranger? What works best for you? What do you like best about Ranger?

Thanks in advance for the insight, I'm wrestling with the right combot after dropping BH and numerous other professions. I gravitated toward Ranger and Sword from the "enjoyment" factor, but need to be more effective to survive better (especially with the new death=decay of items nerf coming).

What are some templates that go well with Master Ranger?

Thanks

Any ranged combat weapon profession. Not BH.

Any melee combat profession, but have medic.

You can master most ranged/melee professions and still have enough SP left over for a dabble.

one more thing does a master ranger/master gunfighter(what i decided to do) need to wear armor, or is clothes good enough?

depends on a lot of variables..

I really dont wear a lot of armor, im TKM and have a high melee defense, when i was a master pistoleer, I used tactics to avoid getting hit too much. Armor and pistoleer does seem to work fairly well together as long as you dont spam the specials. However, I wouldnt rely on armor too much, it tends to slow you down more than its worth.

I'm about to be a Master Pistoleer. I wear like good composite gloves for random NPCs, carry an ubese helmet for emergencies and some quality ubese boots. The wear on my stats isn't too horrible even after a chest plate.

I'd go with the least armor possible, but if you know it's gonna hit you, better have some armor on hand.

Armor? WHat's that? Master Ranger/Master Fencer here. Never wear armor, and have no medic skills at all. I can't remember the last time I died hunting anything.

Ranger and a pistol slinger...with a little medic (enough to heal the secondaries...keeps me going on loooong trips in the wilds)

I have learned that armor does me no good anymore. In PvE, my melee defenses are more than enough to tank any animals. As far as getting shot at, I can generally close the gap fast enough to drop whatever is shooting at me. In PvP, all my armor does is get damaged (not decayed). I last just as long in my hunting clothes as I don in armor, and since my clothes don't encumber me, I tend to be a little better off, as I can regen as I fight.

Ranger + a bit of CH + a bit of pistoller + novice medic to use stim b's is great fun.

I have some entertainer as well, but will drop it eventually to give me the skill points to get to Master Ranger.
