So like all Rangers, I can collect tons of animal bits (hides/meat/bones) and then.. well.. dispose of them all.
... or hang out next to a starport, and try to shout above the buffing doctors to sell the animal remains for whatever I can get.

What's the feasability of opening a vendor and stocking it with all this stuff, to try and make some money? Is it best to just stick it on the bizzare? Is vendor maintenance just too much of a pain for a roaming Ranger to deal with?

Depends on the quality of your resources. BE's, armorsmiths, etc, look for high stats in some of the resources.

Architects sometimes look for huge amounts of hide/bone whatever's needed for the latest painting schematic on the server so they can do factory runs -- in their case they don't need stats, just lots of the same.

I just harvest bones while I'm out (I'm not very good at killin' huge things yet), then come back and dump them on the bazaar myself, but if you're looking for real cash, find out what the professions need.

Put it on the bazaars if it's not good stuff. It's better than nothing, even if it doesn't sell. If you have stacks of 1k or more of even decent resources you should be able to sell it for 3-5 cpu even for the worst stuff.

For good stuff....I sell to Fred for the most part. If he's not buying or I have extra somehow, I send a discreet /tell to any doctor I see who isn't buffing. Usually they respond quickly. Of course if it's stuff the Docs don't like, I find Armorsmith/BE/etc. and send them a tell.

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.

Well what they did on lowca by makeing the lowca ranger thing what ever it is called. They have 6 vendors and it is built of about 10-15 rangers and they place all there resources on there and now it has a good say rep around the server. IT is starting to get busy. Every server should try it out to make a good ranger guild, not even a guild really just a group togetehr i think most of the lowca ones are still in other guilds but work out of the mall for orders and such.

My thoughts on a working gcw/rank and fun factor in this game.......

I put everthing average and below up on a vendor for 4 cpu (I buy as well, for 3 cpu, when my vendor is given offers). For the good stuff, I either set a higher price, auction it, or set it in my shop and let people email me offers for it...]

I really wish we had an auction option on the vendors, so that we could auction that way instead of via the trade boards....

Great, thanks for the suggestions. That's interesting that you don't bother the doctors that are buffing with tells -- I guess they're too busy to restock while buffing...

You could find a Master Doc or Chef along with an armorsmith and get yourself some contracts. This will net you a good income and long term residual income. If you cut them a sweet deal, they may be incloned to give you some nice buffs or armor depending on the profession you have the contract with. Find a couple more Scouts/Rangers and you can have a thriving business before you know it. We (my guild) has a couple 2 million unit orders whch at 30 - 40 cpu for the good stuff when the actual market rate was 50 - 60cpu. This means repeat business and steady customer.

One thing you can do is look on the trade form for your server. You will often see requests for specific items, along with coordinates to a vendor to offer said items to. For example, if wooly hide on dantooine gets really good, you will see armorsmiths offering good pay for the hides (a recent customer of mine was paying 150cpu for lokian avian meat to make buff packs for her vendor sales).

Do an advanced search for Lowca Ranger Consortium, and you will find all of the posts on the inception, progress and completion of the LRC

It was a sacrifice to drop ranger and go merchant, but at the moment, its really hard to keep things in stock because it sells so fast.

I am about to hit Master Ranger, this week on Starsider. The other night night while hunting on Endor, I met a Master Ranger who gave me a website that is useful for pricing your resources.

I know that most of you probably already know this and that it may have already been posted on another thread, but figured it would be good info for other aspiring Rangers.

I found out I was selling some stuff WAYYYY! to cheap. Now I'm making twice as much as I was before!
