I read in one of the 19 questions to TH one week (I think it wasfencer asking, but not sure), someone asked about the dizzy effect on creatures. TH's answer was that dizzy has no real effect on creatures. Now don't 2 of our traps have dizzy effect (one from scout, and one from ranger)? Isn't our highest trap a stun and dizzy trap? Does anyone have a real reason to use either of these traps outside of trying to grind? Please let me know your thoughts on this.
I'd also like to know what kinds of traps you regularly use. I've combined ranger with carbineer. Although it's probably not as effective as rifleman, I can easily control my target by using action shot, phecnacine darts, and suppression fire. This keeps them away from me so that I can make the kill, while staying fairly safe. What methods do you find useful?

Sonic Pulse actually does stun and dizzy as an AoE trap. So its still useful as a trap. But overall your right

As a Pistoleer I use traps a lot.
Pdarts and glow wire probably 98% of the time. Pdarts slow, the glow wires drop resistance.
I was using Ldarts to supplement by KD move, then realized the creature was not dizzy. I may try sonics, but don't hold your breath waiting. The two traps I use have saved my butt many times, so why change?

There is no reason to change what you like. But this is a good thread to show which ones we Rangers use. Like Glow-wire and mesh in my case. Although im trying P-darts now because of reading all this.

I like Pdarts over mesh because you get more usesout of them, and they slow down to a crawl anyway. Sometimes I alternate between mesh and Pdarts to keep them away longer. I do use glow wire traps to bring the defenses down, and the state effects from the carbine are useful.

Yeah pdarts do last longer, but one unfortunate side effect is it slows down enemies at different speeds. There are some enemies that it will slow down immediately, some that it won't slow dor for a long time. I found this really apparent between the difference between fighting a gurreck or a rancor. Gurrecks will slow down eventually, but not right away..rancors slow down right away. Depends on what oene fights.

The dizzy effect from our traps (creature only) and the fact that dizzy doesn't work on creatures is pretty unfortunate. It seems like a simple fix though to change it to a different effect that does work! Something like this shouldn't require us to wait for a Ranger revamp.
I've always like wire mesh traps for freezing creatures, but only when running away. If you actually use it in ranged combat and it works, and then you shoot at it, it becomes immeditately -unrooted-.

I have a similar set of methods, although a little different.
I use darts, or mesh (depending on the situation) to control the enemy the most. along with that, I use glow wire traps to make it so I can hit the target easier. My template recently changed, so I have a lot to change in my strategies.
You may find glow wires worth crafting as well, as they do pretty darn good against critters.
