Howdy all
Im pretty new to Ranger. Got Master at the beginning of the week... A question came up about being able to find the BH from the Hero quest on Tat (think its the BH and not the smugglers)...... I know this guy can pop up anywhere but am I wasting my time trying to find him using /area?
Thanks in advance.

The bounty hunter spawns inside cities...
Each city has a different location for her... and I'm talking established cities, not player cities.

No reason it wouldnt work since you can do tracks of NPCs from tracking III

It works. My spouse who is currently house-bound, used Paks to areatrack for all the hero quest people and get all his badges.
He is Imperial and I am Rebel. He has still not learned the fine art of avoiding imperial entanglements (scans). I swear I've been running around overt for the last week. And dying unexpectedly.
If that quest were any longer they'd kick me out of the rebellion.

Yep, it does work.
The BH and accompanying gaggle of ne'er-do-wells spawn in the main, non-player cities. (I know there's a proper term for them but its after 6am, I've been looking for that d***ed boar all night. Again)
I'd noticed the spawn is usually withing 500m or so of a shuttleport. If you can afford the fares, hop from city to city checking, else go the slow way and scoot round on your bike.
Putting your overhead map up helps as well, as an unusual clutter of little white darts near the shuttle might be an extra hint that you've hit paydirt.
ROFL, I'd not mind, but on my main character the ONLY part I've completed is the BH. Out in the wild, using my rangerly talents? I couldn't find the ground if I fell over!

ROFL
You must be having bad luck !! (Try the Boar directly after the server refresh... the earlier the better
) I was hunting Bantha's on Friday morning... found 4 Boars, whenarea scanning. (Areascanned for players, and directed them tothe wild pigs).

Some of these players had been on Tat for several days seraching for the Boar, so they were very excited when they received my tells (one player, coudn't understand why I took my time to guide him to the location.... I replied, that player presence where scaring the Tat critters. So the faster I could get all the city slickers back to civilization, the better for the environment
)
They areleaving empty Brandy bottles and Canape, Ahriza wrapersall over the place !! (I had to spend countless hours on Saturday cleaning up !)

I'd not mind, but I've completed it on TC2 and there's nobody there to show my pretty prize too, lol.
And yep, you're right. All these damned tourists, whooshing about on their bikes, stinking the place up with fumes... I was out getting some fresh herb (the meat, tsk, shame on you) and kept getting asked by all manner of Townies "hey, you seen the moisture hermit?" "Is the bounty hunter in the squill cave yet??" "Dude...can you draw off those Tusken, they're stopping the pirates from spawning"!!!
(On a more fun note, the Espa race track, once its up and running on Live will be great for getting 'free' Scout XP. Just sit at the startpoint and /conceal anyone taking off on their swoop. I did the track tonight and clocked over 2k xp just for being masked and flying past high end MoBs. Multiply that by a couple of hours worth of racers...)
