You can always tell the ex-master rangers. Because they keep frontieering 4. Because none of us want to go through that again if we dont have to.
But go try out your BH template. Your right its not the best combat one. But its the best one to support another BH'er with. Since you can track the prey wherever it goes.

Thats an interesting template...
I would imagine that with good tactics and some good pets, you could be really effective.
out of curiosity, with the 3024 BH, would you be able to hunt jedi with that skill?

At investigation3 you can hunt jedi. Thats all you need from the BH tree. Thats why we will have TKM/Investigation 3 Bounty Hunters.

Boy, I don't know about that. I had LLC4 at on point, and I was pretty powerful. That coupled with a pet to keep things at bay would be darn nice. Now, if the LLC has been nerfed, that changes my outlook.

No your right calc as an ex-BH myself LLC and a pet were an amazing combo. I stand corrected

llc is a very nice tool. That's one big eason why I'm wanting to get level 4 in llc for that reason 
It doesn't work on all enemies, but many of them. Unfortunately, though - some of the higher level MOBS are like 70% electricity resist, which isn't much fun. The BH pistol, the scatter pistol isn't very strong.
I hope the use of pets, especially if I have 7 pets, and the combination of the two weapons i should be able to take on a lot. I am not sure if 7 pets will be enough, just rotating them in and out when they get low on health.

This is going to sound odd. But if your a CH go fish and get a K worth of fish meat from wherever its best right now. Then find your local master BE and get him to make Pet Stim D's. It also needs Dantooine Fiberplast which isnt that hard to come by. Our guild BE is making Pet Stims D's that are 1557/29 uses because of my week on Dath. As a master CH these things are invaluable. Since the LLC specials are less then 17m just walk up heal your pet fire off your LLC special and back up.

Thanks for the information, I can combine this with the doc components that I can make on my own. This is something worth planning for, since pet stims will be a great thing to have in stock. It shouldn't take too long to gather the necessary components, and just get a schematic made where I can make 100 of them for my own personal use.
In the mean time, I think i still have some pet stim Cs available for when i was a BE. They aren't the best, but good enough for the most part.

I think you should just do what you want to do, this game isn't always about having an uber template. I would be happier having a weaker, yet unique combination I like and created myself, versus having a crazy nice template that I was forced into. Do whatever makes you happy. Fortunately, you can stillfloss and have fun even if you're not crazy powerful, which is what I like about this game. Equal opportunities for all.

Hey all,
I know people enjoy reading stories and stuff dealing with people's revelation so to speak when it comes to professions.
About a week ago, I decided to give Bounty Hunter a try. I mastered marksman, and started to work on BH when I was crunched for points. I looked at master ranger and said "should I?" Well, I started dropping things I absolutely need to, until I was left with 0/4/4/0. I was pretty sad actually, because ranger was a profession that I really liked, but couldn't keep the points around easily for BH and another combat profession. Today, while hunting with a friend, I ran into another master ranger friend. I began to really miss the idea of ranger.
After setting up one of my field bases, I broke - I said there is no way I can drop this profession. I ran my stuff through a character builder and found I can have a template that's pretty much what I want. A 3/0/2/4 BH, 0/4/0/0 CH, and 0/4/4/0 Ranger. It may not be the strongest combination, but by certain it's not the weakest either. I plan to keep ranger, even though I was going to mess with other professions. Although I could grind back up to it, people are right - ranger is a lifestyle. We may not be uber, we may not have everything others have - but we are probably the most content of all professions, rarely crying out for attention.
I also found this to be very true when viewing the other boards. I write a message in the BH forums, I get ignored. Another message I get flamed. I sent messages to the Rifleman forums as well, to receive the same treatment. When it boils down to it, people who are rangers are quite a bit nicer than the average player or profession in the game. It's quite nice to see.

Yeah, the one big concern for me is support for my alternate doctor/armorsmith. I gotta be very careful, due to the fact that I need to support the crafting portion of my playing. I agree though, one doesn't need to be 'uber' to have fun. I'm a wookie, far from uber - yet have lots of fun
