Now... getting a revamp down the road is definitely the desire of the Ranger Community. In light of certain things, namely the Smuggler Revamp the Squad Leader Revamp, the Combat Balance and everything else, there seems to be alot of support for short term fixes. That said... I started thinking about a few things that might help us out now... small quick fixes that might be beneficial to our profession.
This is not a substitute for a revamp, this is simply a few suggestions that might add some short term viability to the Ranger Profession.
I have 3 quick fix suggestions that could be incorporated into a mini publish.
- Trapping: Increase the effectiveness of a 100 rating. Master Rangers currently don't need Dweezle ( the trapping bonus food) because if you can't trap it with a 100, a +18 bonus ain't gonna help. If we're truly the Masters of PvE then our traps should work on MOST high level mobs.
- Camps: REPEL AGGRO! real simple... this will get it out of the way when a more precise revamp comes down.
- Creature Harvesting: Increse the usefulness of this modifier.
Can anyone else think of quick fixes that might help the profession?

Actually you focused on all the things that I believe should be fixed in the Revamp, which I would like to see down the road.
Right now, I'm not interested in camping or trapping, because those are issues with our proffession that need to be massively overhauled. Thus I don't want them to change them now for fear that they never finish working on them. I.E. I don't want a quick camping fix because I'd rather wait for Modular Camping. I worry that a quickfix in camping might give them an excuse not to add it.
What I DO want to see worked on sooner rather than later is our Combat skills. I've stated this before in more detail, I just wanted to say I don't want to see traps, camps or harvesting solved in a quickfix, since they are the backbone of our proffession and they need to be fixed to be effective. I.E. I don't want to get a bonus to trapping since I would rather have them work on a plethora of new traps rather than them, in a few months go "didn't we already give them a trapping bonus?...next!"
