Okie dokie - somehow I got FS.
And you can trade in "normal" xp for FS xp, at an exchange rate that would make a banker cringe.
So no more "extra" xp floating around, I traded it all in. Therefore, I need to harvest and trap my butt off to make more xp, scout and trap and weapon. OK, hey ho, let's go.
I decided to try a "cheat". Yup, got on my swoop all maskscented and drove around Yavin. Got good, not great xp. Only enough to fill two low boxes in about 15 minutes. But I was bored. Went to Endor to hunt/trap/shoot and get wooley hide.
2 missions, crazed gurrecks, I love cats. Merely 1k plus of hide, a couple of thousand trap xp (wire mesh and glow juice city lemme tell ya), a couple thousand combat xp, many thousands in pistol xp, and a goodly amount of scout xp from riding around to get to the missions and then harvesting.
Realistically, I think I could max scout in 4-5 hours, minus survival. Yes, I am a master in a combat profession, but how many switch? How many BHs did we hear whining?
Long road ahead, and no, not to Jedi, all I want is some of the FS perks.
Oh yeah, maskscent is great to use on at least one of the quests.

Yeah im in the same boat as you jb, getting the perks, and perhaps the extra character rather than jedi.

So the focus groups were wrong and we dont want to be jedis. We just want a second free character to play with per server? And an easy way to get enhancements for our current professions? Yeah this was worth delaying the CB and profession revamps for /sarcasm off

lol
I expect 2/3 of the population are with us on this. If that estimate is correct, then 1/3 of the populatilon wants to be Jedi and 2/3 of the population would have wanted the hologrind to stop .....
So - I'm going to get both my accounts FS eventualy and have 4 characters, and then I will RULE THE UNIVERSE (or something)

Yeah, that is pretty much my feeling, Fodder.
I do want to try out Jedi (I'm a 100% Bartle Explorer, it's in my blood...), but the delay was certainly not worth it.
Of course, having my very first mission target wind up embedded in a tree really didn't help my impression of the 'fix'.

Sometimes you can drop a camp next to the tree and the tree will disapear. I did this once when my treasure chest got stuck in a tree. And who says camps are useless...
At any rate, I sort of like the new system -- won't be radical gameplay changes for me; just a lot of the surplus xp I own will now go into the jedi trees instead of going unused. I was sort of disappointed with the scout quests though just because it gave you a big bright glowly wp to the camps when you got close enough to them. I was actually hoping that I would have to areatrack to them.... oh well....

The quests were better done on TC2. I think they changed it because of the server loads. Right now, the spawn doesn't actually spawn as quickly as it should so you can't actually track it right away (at least when I did it). Too many spawns are around so the server doesn't load them until you get nearby. So they seem to have upped the wp distance (it used to be about 50-100m, now it's at 200-250m).

A friend pointed this out after I tried disconnecting/reconnecting. Of course I attempted to satisfy my curiosity and got told I was in a municipal zone...
Oh well. I'll just try to area track a CSR if I'm stuck when I log in later.
Being a grumpy old master ranger, now that is truely awesome!I'm too young and too cute to be a grumpy old ranger.
