Ok, thanks for the advice. /bow
I'll think about it if i wannado this. I've got the idea when i start on this, i'll be doing nothing else then helping other people on their quests. When doing rancors i can make like 500k in 2.5 hours. I doubt anyone wants to pay that to me for finding their quest target

some may be willing, but make sure you get half up front.
and tell me, even if the agreed price is 500k, would you rather hunt, /areatrack, trap, kill and harvest huge beasts....
or /areatrack, run 250m, /areatrack, run 250, /areatrack....etc?
In my mind, hunting is the obvious choice.

I must be cheap and easy. 50k for 30 minutes, paid upfront, no guarantees and at 30 minutes and one second I am outta there.
Boring isn't the word for it. And finding the targets doesn't guarantee the person you are tracking for will be first either, then you have to listen to the reasons why spawn waiting time shouldn't count.
Wanna really make em mad? I have like -5000 faction with Valarians and jawa. Stopping to fight them - lookit dude, I can't areatrack while in combat, so let me kill them and end combat - makes clients go crazy. Altho, less random spawn seems to help the pirates to spawn.

I normally charge 250K per spawn per hour. I detest tracking though, so normally They have to offer me more to motivate me
, I'd rather be hunting.

I personally stick to hunting creatures for money, and leave my tracking skills for finding creatures for myself or group to hunt. I've found most people don't really understand the tracking skill. As many on this forum have said, others think it works much like BH droid tracking.
Either way, if you track Tat hero quests for someone I'd suggest running through and completing all of them first so you have an idea what to look for and where. There are also a few guides with WPs that make it a little easier.

It seems like most customers are offering 100k credits per hour for this. So depending on your harvest yield rate and the availability of good doc meats on your server, you will actually be losing money by hiring out as a guide. But it's still a nice change of pace, on occasion, so long as it's clear up-front that you are selling your time regardless of end result (don't promise to locate these folks, you cannot control the spawns, just promise to commit to the time agreed upon).
Other pieces of advice if you're going to tackle this:
(1) I am convinced that it is best to do it early in the day, as I have had great luck tracking boar, pirates, and farmer in the mornings and terrible luck in the evenings, and won't hire out for this at all past midday; (2) Open up a bunch of areatrack menus (the one that displays the animals-people-players choice) and then get on your speeder, and merely slow down on your speeder periodically rather than dismount, and when you slow down, select 'people' and track, then speed back up again to the next waypoint, only dismounting when you finish off your existing open tracking menus; (3) Don't rely too heavily on radar, but do use the overhead map (CTRL+M), easiest if you mark yourself afk (with an 'I'm busy tracking, comm is off' or similar message), and completely close (CTRL+ENTER) your chat window to maximize tracking space, communicating with your customer only over baloons or email (can roleplay that they have to be quiet while on the hunt); (4) I advise would-be customers not to buy a ranger's time if that ranger doesn't have all of the Hero badges himself/herself; got to get them yourself first to be able to advise others.
In my experience the pirates were most difficult to find, and I have heard that is because the area is heavily populated with existing spawns that may need to be cleared first... but guides for that along with waypoints exist elsewhere. Final suggestion: Guiding others in this way is a great opportunity for roleplaying your ranger.

Hi,
I mastered Ranger the other day. yay!
Since then i'm getting numerous requests to help people find npc's of the Hero of Tatooine quest.
Has anyone helped people finding these npc's? (Moisture Farmer, Pirates, etc)
If so, how much time can it take and how much would be a nice price for them to pay for my services?
Thanks,

The spawns are sporadic.I've heard stories of people finding them in 5 minutes, and also peple looking for 3 hours with no luck.
On the price issue, it's basically what you want. If you were hunting quality resources, how much money do you think you could make in a 3 hour period. I'd say charge more than that figure, since when hunting you also get missions payoffs.
I myself don't track for cash since it's boring, repetitive and the customers more often than not are pushy, obnoxious fools who just want phat loot without doing any of the leg work themselves.

I hate tracking for the Hero quests or any really rare spawn, because it's so frustratingly fruitless, so I charge really outrageous amounts for it (500k/hour per spawn, prorated into 30 minutes only, so if I'm searching for 3 things at once that's 1.5m an hour). And I'm rarely available. >.>
Of course, if I like you, I'll happily do it for cheap or free, and I prefer doing it for Jedi for some reason. (Probably because my best tracking experience was with one, I just like to watch the glowy bat, and I know if I run into Tusken Raiders, I have a chance of, you know, surviving.)
I'm a lot cheaper on tracking babies for CH's. That's actually kind of fun.
I think I'd like tracking a lot more if we could do it from our bike, and if we could navigate the results box with our arrow keys, and if hitting Enter without first clicking our chat area wouldn't close the damn results box. I really hate that. It's just... Way inconvenient to track, all the little things add up to Annoying.

You can do it from your bike. You just need to open a bunch of areatrack menus first, then mount, and then slow down each time you're ready to use one ofthe menus. You only have to dismount when youfinish with all the menus you popped up.

Don't doubt it.. I've been tipped 500k upfront for finding just one of the 4 parted quest to hero.

OMG EXPLOIT! I kid. Thanks for the advice--I never knew I could do that. It should help a little.

awsome this should make tracking less painful.
