Has anyone ever compiled a list of creature resources and what food/drink/armor etc they can be used in? I know there are different sites out there for crafters that list ingredients, and faqs in the different profession forums, but I'd like to see a list made that's aimed directly at rangers.
In other words, we all know that avian meat is used for buffs, herbivore for ABECS.. most know that OQ counts 66% of it's quality with PE affecting strength and DR affecting duration. We know wooly and leather hides are used by an AS and OQ and SR are the big factors (and don't forget ML for encumbrance). BE's use all kinds of meat and look for the combined numbers of FL, OQ & PE.
But then there's less common requests.. Insect meat (75%DR and only 25%OQ) for Vercupti and Scaley hides for Garrmorl.
The reason I post is because Yavin carnivore meat is going for 40-60cpu among chefs/BE's. Until recently, I had no idea it was used for Bivoli. And then there's the new Doc resist buffs that I haven't gotten around to remembering the ingredients of.
I think part of playing a ranger is not only being knowledgeable about exploration and creature hunting, but also about the resources that are used by other professions.
I guess I'd like to see a list with either all the creature resources and the craftables that can be made from them. OR a list of all craftables that use creature resources along with their creature resource ingredient and the important stats.
I know there's swgcraft.com, but there seems to be no list aimed directly at rangers for use as a reference. Feel free to reply to this, and maybe someone can compile a list from the info we gather.

Great Idea! I am not sure if there is such a list that encompasses all creature resources. Let's go ahead and start this ball rolling. Let's use a format such as:
- Resource Type:
- Used In:
- Important Stats:
- Other Notes:

less work for us? but we are Rangers, we thrive on the uphill struggles we face everyday. i don't think you have the right attitude to be our coorespondent. i think we need to get you some Hawtpants, maybe it'll be easier for you that way.

I have already gotten most of this from SWGCraft.com. I am a member of the site and it constantly gives great information of this sort, as well as what resources are currently available and whether they are confirmed as well. You can look up any weapons, armorsmith, chef, doctor, medic, smugglar, BE, etc. and of course Ranger schematics. There are tons of possible people to sell your harvested, searched, milked and foragged resources to. Give it a try.

A Rangers' mind functions not in the garb of the Sissy. I have updated your message accordingly.

well see, Calc was lookin' for the easy way, which in my opinion isn't the way of the Ranger, so i figured maybe he's like some Hawtpants to go with his shortcut seeking antics.

I use swgcraft.com and swgcreatures often... but the problem with swgcraft is that you can't look up EVERYTHING craftable that uses, say, reptile meat. Obviously, if there's a good shift I'll just sell to any BE - no problem finding one of those on RIN or through my regular buyer list.
It's easy to find a buyer for stuff, but sometimes it would be nice to know what these items are used for.. either for roleplaying a knowledgeable ranger, or just out of curiousity.
There hasn't been a list made specifically for Rangers that addresses this. Although it looks like the resource tree that was mentioned above might take that function when it's finished. At the moment, you can look up craftable items and sort through the hundreds. It will list the ingredients, but nothing currently lists the ingredients with info about their uses.
I guess I'll just wait on the resource tree to be finished...

You can go under the schematics header on the right and click on "resource usage" and select the resource, (for example, "Yavinian Leathery Hide") and it will show you what schematics take that resource.
The downside is that if you select "Leathery Hide" it shows only the schematics that take leathery hide, not just hide, and alsonot Yavinian leathery hide specfically. So you may have to do several searches.
I do see what you mean with the original post however, the need is definitely there. Personally all my resources go back into my own crafting professions, so I only take what I personally need, but for the full time Ranger this would be a very valuable tool.
Any takers?!

i tend to keep 2 websites in the background that have proven of immeasurable value to me.for tempest, a website was created for resource spawn listings (www.enactive.org/swg/). the peolple who created and maintain this site (with the generosity of many players as well) are amazing. just one example of some high quality people on tempest. the other site is www.allakhazam.com. the resource listing is cross referenced to all the scematics that use them. some of the schems need updating, and are being updated, but all and all, an excellent site. i'd like to see something like a hybrid of the 2. it would have to be server-specific thoough, and, i imagine, a programming nightmare. but i guess i'm spoiled enough.
