Thread: Harvesting a little sanity

I'm pulling this out of the main harvesting discussion thread as I want to try and get a little focus and maybe see of we can come up with something constructive that Owen, JB, Brisc and Calc would be happy to lobby for on our behalf.
"The penalty for harvesting while in a group has been removed and replaced with a 20% harvesting bonus when harvesting while in a group"
Can we ask for confirmation of the following:
The harvesting bonus that is being introduced, is based entirely on the player characters creature skill mod.
If that IS the case, can we then ask that the change is introdiced in the following manner (which I believe will help clear up the confusion and will also present the change as an 'everyone wins' situation).
"The penalty for harvesting while in a group is being removed. This is in effect a bonus of (40%) to all creature harvesting while grouped for all players with a creature harvesting skill.
In addition, at Master Scout, an extra 10% bonus, while grouped, to the players creature harvesting skill will be granted in recognition of the player characters expertise in recovering resources from prey animals.
Finally, at Master Ranger, a further 10% bonus, while grouped, to the players creature harvesting skill will be granted in recognition of the player characters expertise and dedication to their craft. Characters who have achieved the rank of Master Ranger are unsurpassed in their harvesting skills when working in groups of any size."
By presenting the case like this it shows that ALL scout based players are in fact recieving a substantial increase in their harvesting ability while grouped and also recognises the fact that those players who have invested most, in terms of skill points, are reaping the highest rewards.
As it stands the announcement gets over the 'facts' but creates more questions than answers.
(I would appreciate it if we could keep this thread civil, devoid of flames, dev bashing, whining and as professional as we like to believe Rangers are. Thanks all)

I agree with you.
I also would be happy if the group penalty is removed; groups with a Master Scout get 10% bonus; groups with a Master Ranger get a 20% bonus. Groups with multiples do not get mutliple bonuses.
Not unlike the group TN thing in Squad Leader.

Yup, that'd work as well. The only people in the group that'd benefit would be those with harvesting ability, obviously. There'd be a clear level of bonus, based on the MS or MR 'bringing' the bonus by their presence.
Would they have to be group lead though? Or just grouped?

heres is what i posted in the TestCenter Update thread. i'm fighting and fighting, but seem to be the only one.

THE BONUS SHOULD RUN AS FOLLOWS(or something very similar) AND HAVE A RANGE REQUIREMENT LIKE MISSION PAYOUT:
GROUP WITH,
SCOUT W/ HUNTING4 = 5% BONUS
MASTER SCOUT = 5% BONUS
NOVICE RANGER = 5% BONUS
RANGER W/ TRACK4 = 5% BONUS
MASTER RANGER = 5% BONUS
Therefore a group with a master ranger recieves a 25% harvesting bonus to all members with at least novice scout. And obviously the Scout/Ranger with highest modifier sticks. no stacking harvest bonuses.

Dang Phenix! How'd you pull that much sanity out of there?!? I've only ever harvested 5-12 sanity off of anyone in this forum. Man - I've got a lot to learn before i am truly a Master Ranger.

oh, perhaps I read that wrong. Maybe it was a decimal point, not a comma.

I'd love to see a harvest modded ATST. Just walks around behind you with spindly arms and throws animals in a hopper, where there is a grinding sound. MWHAHAHAHAHA

All I ever get is the 'no intact harvestable resources' message.
Anyway, I like this idea as well. It's fair and balanced. Real fair and balanced, not fox news fair and balanced.
