Back on track (pun intended)
I have been trying to do the Hermit Quest to get the rez ring, I found a master ranger to find the Moisture Farmer for me, but decided the 250k he charged me was too much to find the Boar for me. After 2 weeks of looking I decided to get ranger and some tracking skills for myself.
Now this week I have followed some of the advice here on the forums but have yet to find the boar, so do any of you rangers here have any additional advice to track and find the boar?
I am 0010 ranger, set up waypoints 1000m apart, figuring 500+500=1000 drove/walked between the set of nine wps, tracking once I got to the wp. I have completely disregared the wps and drove around to get mobs to spawn, stop pick off the Desert Demons or Tuskens that are around and aggroed me, then tracked but no luck.
I am at wits end with this boar.
I am now seeing why the 250k I payed was well worth it

Hehe. First of all use a Creature Mount - this gives the sever time to spawn things around you, but is faster than walking. Sometimes a speeder moves too fast to make things "pop." Go up to any yellow dot you see and target it. If it is not the boar, ignore it or kill it.
Areatrack every few hundred meters. And pray.
Good luck!

If you are going to ride, go through the waypoints twice.
Round one, stop at each waypoint, store your vehicle, areatrack, call vehicle, areatrack, leave. If that didn't work -
Round two, do what you are doing. 9 waypoints? I have 18 for the boar. Do a search and find the ones you been missing.

Thanks JB that worked. Some of the wps on the guide are about 200 to 500 meters apart so you are effectively tracking the same area, I was just reducing the times I would track.
I just needed more patience in waiting for the darn thing to spawn, and that 15 sec helped greatly.
Thanks again.
