Uber Master Scouts.......that's all we are.
Camps are usless
Traps are useless
Tracking, Big whoop - I still find what i want without it.
Wayfaring is usless, Oh wait i can crawl faster - USELESS
Harvesting, Big deal.
Make this profession worth while to play!!! And don't try to explain the tiny benefits you think Rangers have because i've been a Ranger since about 3 months after release, and i've seen what little changes have come our way.
And what big changes do i hear about that might be coming????
Teir names?? Are you kidding me??? You are all worried about what little title you have above you head????? Sad, very sad.
DEV: Lets see, we've revamped several professions, added several new functions to them, and oh....for the Rangers, we gave them new tier names. And next year, we're gonna give them a camp that doesn't leak when it rains.......Oh they will still be useless, but at least we're giving them something.
Enjoy the little name changes, enjoy the little Ranger hat and enjoy having nothing added that is worth while to this profession.
Look, i love the ideas Owen-Lars has, they make for some interesting reading. But it isn't gonna happen, SOE is not going to spend the time and resources to revamp this profession. This profession will get a couple of minor things that will appease you for about 2 weeks and it will be back to the old same'ol same'ol.
But i would love to be proven wrong, one can only hope.

i can, because i ENJOY the profession, i didnt mean to sound like an ass, but if u do not enjoy it atm, try something u might like until something more appealing comes along, altho theres alot broken in this game, theres plenty of templates to be made, im sure ud really enjoy at least one

Lets see at last count there were 33 professions in game. If this one doesnt fit your needs move on. Yes we know we have issues. Yes we know we have wasted skill points. And yes we know that we arent going to see an update in the near future.

This char has been about 7 to 8 professions, My Alt has been even more. I want to play Ranger, but there is nothing about the current setup that warrents play. I'm sure your enjoyingit...... I did too, over a year ago. If you've just become a Ranger, or within the last few months, then it still fresh for you. But for folks like me (and believe me, there are plenty) the profession was less then stellar from the get go.
Look, if i didn't care, i wouldn't complain.

Pretty much, yeah - what they said. when you hit ctrl+s, near the mid-left of the bottom of the window is this little button that says "Surrender Skill". I personally use that button when I find the skills I have aren't the ones I want or need. Then I go out and earn the ones I do want.
Not saying you have to, but you probably ought to take a break from the game, or at least from Ranger.

What the hell are you smoking. Rangers and scout quite literaly hold the game in their hands. Everything now days revolves around buffs, armor and weapons. Now where do you think all those organics come from? Who tracks the nice little creatures for the jedi to kill and for people to get their badges? Rangers do. Basicly Rangers are hunters, now as long as that is our role we're stuck with it because thats what we're good at. It is clear we wont have a profession changeing revamp any where in the forseeable future so if in the mean time if we feel like having a bone thrown to us and havingsome cooler titles, oh well noones holding a blaster to your head making you stay here.

LOL!!!!! Jedi's are finding plenty of things to kill on there own....namely each other. And with the Krayts spawning like rabbits.........

If you don't feel usefull, leave until the revamp. Complaining does nothing. I've been a Ranger since September '03 and let me tell you, I agree that we need some love-- but complaining won't help that. If the game isn't fun, change your professions.

New to Ranger?! I just mastered it for the third time. I started scout pre-launch in beta 3.

You know it IS nice to be part of a useless profession...we can trim the macro-grinders, l33t d00ds, and all other unmentionables out, and weare left with the happiest and tightest knit community I know of.
Harvesting-excellent way to gain money.
Tracking-excellent way to find creepers, crawlers, and every thing else.
Traps-excellent way to fight creatures without seeing the path from the cloner.
Camoflague-excellent way to walk around with impunity and see the larger, angrieranimals in a peaceful state.
Terrain Negotiation-excellent way to move from sniping point to sniping point as a rifleman.
Wilderness survival-I would give up every other box I have before taking one box out of camping. I loves me my temporary homes. <3
So...as you can see, useless is in the eye of the boholder.
