Thread: Reward Slap In Our Faces!!!

I'm talking about the30K of every resource reward. It is a slap in the faces of every Scout/Ranger in this game.

To make it even worse these rewards are tradeable (hello SOE, didn't you mention you'd work on stabilizing the economy of the game? Well this doesn't help!).

Does SOE even think about the consequences their actions have?

I don't think so. A while ago i was still selling avian meat for 100-200CPU and when i auctioned it off here it was gone in an hour at most. Now i have an auction stuck at 100CPU for 7K of meat.

Nice one to ruin another profession. My BH prof is already wrecked and now Scout is too. This is so sad.

Those 30k stacks wont last forever. I just keep harvesting and stockpiling. When they finally need it I will set a price and be back rolling in the dough. As others haves stated tho, more often than not 30k doesnt get much of a factory run. So, they will disappear quickly and that will be that.

New home of SWG Rangers!

One star for saying 'slap in the face.' It took much longer for someone to say that than I thought it would.

If you don't have anything to add to the discussion why are you replying?

Just to show you 1 starred me? That's pretty pathetic in my humble opinion.

would you prefer he didn't one-star you and didn't own up to his actions? By telling you, calc is letting you know who did it and WHY he did it. Look, this is the third thread that people have been complaining about the 30k stacks in. It's not even two runs in a factory for a doctor. Trust me, short term we'll see a little issue, but not long term. 30k stacks go away, the anti-decay kit doesn't.

That 30k will all be used up in a couple of weeks. if it were 30k every month, THEN I'd be up in arms. But a one-time use 30k, over the course of time, is a drop in the bucket.

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.

May I point out that you're point is valued (the Xth thread about this issue) but that calc only one-starred because of the slap in his...err ... our face?

I can see the humor of it, and don't feel the slap at all, cause I already know better about the 30k stacks.
For me, giving a one-star for only the one reason given by calc is a bit overdone.

Added: ignorance = bliss.. (sometimes). If no one ever would have responded in the first place, then it might have given the signal too (and probably more effective).

OK, read any of the other x threads about this in our forum (at least one is active as we speak) and leave the drama out of it.

I completely disagree with original message of this thread based on my experience on our server so far. In fact, despite my orginal concerns (more interest than real concern) about these rewards, I don't believe ultimately they will have any noticable impact.

First of all, I was able to sell mine to my favorite Doctor for the equivalent of 120 cpu. On our server there have only been two or three hunts in the past year that have drawn those kinds of prices, so I now see my reward as an "instant" 3.6 million credit hunt. That the doctor may not use the resources until later will have no impact on the economy. The only down side to this is that the doctor will eventually usethis resource deed to create a stack of resources that he might have paid 200 cpu for.Even so I believe that should such a resource shift in, they will cash in the deeds and ALSO pay us to hunt as much as we canso we actually don't lose out at all. As for me, I'll always take money in the hand rather than waiting for two monkeys in the bush.

Second, while it is true that the Doctors and others will one day use these deeds to create stacks of rare and expensive resources they are clear currently paranoid about when to use them lest they "waste" them on simple uber-resources and miss out on a shift of Uber-uber-resources. Many of these seem to be going into the "vault" and as a result the steady stream on hunting requests on Kauri have not let up one bit. While I know it just one isolated example, in the same transaction where I sold my deed, it also took a request for a 60cpu hunt from the same Doctor. It seem to me that this is far and away the norm.

All and all these gift horses that we are so fond of looking in the mouth seem have created vastly more drama than they have stacks of resources. And, even if we don't agree with every single game-wide implication of everything the Dev's do, I thing we could be more gracious about it; we're Rangers after all.

30k of meat is less than 2 factory runs.30k of hidewill make 70 pairs of that evil garment with wings tho.

Get over it. The stuff will be used up in days, not weeks, and then the people will want more resources.

If this is going to send you to the poor house, something is wrong with the way you play.

For those who may not realize it, the phrase '...is a slap in the face' is one that pretty much guarantees that the devs will ignore your post. The devs see it for what it is, a gross, overdramatized exageration. Use of that phrase is basically a forum no-no.

Well they seem to ignore everything that's wrong about this game, so....

Well think of it from my POV. I have been crashing since i bought this game in July 2004.

I am not the only one either.

hmm. not really.

take a look at the last three publishes. AMAZING strides. Look at the combat upgrade. Those things are all based on customer feedback. A lot of good things have come from this game recently and insulting the devs may be cathartic, but it certainly isn't accurate.
