"Well, I was out on a routine training exercise on Dantooine, when I noticed some strange tracks. Intrigued, I decided to investigate. What I found was quite disturbing. There was a dark stranger standing alone in the wilderness. I could not quite put my finger on it, but I had a bad feeling about this...
Trying hard not to draw his attention, I tried to move a little closer. Unfortunately he was not fooled by my camoflauge! I saw the stranger draw a weapon. It glowed bright red in his hand. I was sure it was a lightsabre, so this could mean only one thing - the stranger was a Dark Jedi! Perhaps he had sensed my minor connection with the force? No matter, it was too late now. He was heading straight for me - probably with aggressive negotiations in mind!
I was not going to hang around to find out if I could help it! As I turned to flee I realised that there was a squad of the local law enforcement officers nearby, so I made haste towards them. They quickly engaged the Dark Master - normally they would have hassled me for my ID and tried a spot search, but on this occasion they were much more interested in the lightsabre wielding foe heading towards them.
The Stormtroopers at first appeared to put up a strong fight, but after a short while they began to drop one by one. This was indeed a powerful Jedi, perhaps even a Master! I was still quite suprised though. I had thought those Stormtroopers were supposed to be made of sterner stuff! It now appeared this was no more than Imperial propaganda! Well, at least I had something to report back to my Rebel comrades.
Reporting would have to wait however - the Dark Jedi Master had now decided to come after me again. I once more turned to flee. He continued to stalk me over a great distance but I was able to keep safely ahead of him, due to my knowledge of the local terrain. All the time I was constantly pounding at him with my rifle, but it seemed to have little impact.
He continued to chase me for what seemed an age, I almost collapsed from exhaustion several times - luckily I had plenty of medical suppies with me - so I was able to keep myself focused long enough to finally witness him begin to slow. I remembered that he appeared to have taken some injury when I first discovered him, perhaps this was now beginning to take its toll on him? I was glad anyway. I was starting to tire myself!
Finally, he collaped! Could it be? I, a humble Ranger, had just defeated a Dark Jedi Master? I prodded him with my rifle to check there was no movement. He was indeed motionless.
I searched his pockets - maybe I could find a lead? It was my duty as an Antarian Ranger to do all I could to aid the remaining Jedi of the Old Republic. They would surely wish to know about a rogue Dark Jedi Master!
Unfortunately all I found was a few thousand credits."

This reminds me of a funny thing that happened to me the other night hunting on Dath. I saw a Nightsister stalker with some damage just sitting there and figured I could take her. Well fortunately she was slow as mollases so I could keep out of the range of her force powers. Well I continues to pound on her with my republic blaster, but it was slooow going. Then I figured I should check her stats and see if another gun would do any better, suprise...suprise, 100% resistant to Energy....and Heat....and Acid. Hmmmm? Well somehow a little damage was getting through because I had her down to about 30% health. So I figured I might as well just keep working onher, she'll bleed to death eventually right?. 10 mins later I had her down to 1/20000 on her health bar but could not get that final point to tick off. So the burly Master Ranger puts his pistol down and slaps her for 1 point of damage. All this for 1800cr.... Well I guess I learned a valuable lesson, use /examine first, hehe

Nice post! This reminds me of the time, way back in the day (August/Sept. 2003) when I was a Ranger/Rifleman and could solo DJK and DJM with ease. The key was the terrain negotiation in Ranger. If I got them on some hilly terrain, which was easy on Dathomir, I'd just kite them across the planet until they were dead. Man those were the days!
Hopefully I'll have more days like that again. I've decided to drop Swordsman (I still have Rifleman) and join the ranks of the Ranger elite once again.

Haha! I like the smack in the chops part to finish her off
! This is btw very interesting. I always avoid Stalkers due to their 100% resists to all my damage types too, but if it is true that I can still stick a bleed I may now try this. I wonder if states get through too? Does anyone know what range Nightsisters can zap from?
