Well there we have it. Read the patchnotes that are supposed to be in place today. Even tough a lot people worked hard to gather data on TC asper request for Tiggs (thx guys/girls), showing that the propsed(!)changeson group harvesting bonusses are giving a lot of people of the Ranger community bad feelings, it still is pushed onto the live servers...

So I wonder why the **** didyou guys do testing, cause right now it only falls on deaf ears and I definately don't feel love from any dev/soe right now... Frankly, I think they're doing a great job on burying the Ranger profession...

It's that I love to sit in my HTBF and ponder about the wrongess of the universe and that tracking helps me with my CH taming a lot, but otherwise I'd drop to Ranger0040... J/K I can't drop MR since I love it soo much but I really hate to see this kind of BS happening right now...

I felt that we where doomed from the start. But even though we all went about it in very different ways, I shall always remeber you, DaveG and some others as my brothers and sisters in the great battle of 0P0B.

So the rest of the crew gets a bonus and I don't?

And this makes me want to group because.... sorry, altruism died the 10th time I got screwed over on loot.

Still going to solo hunt, unless one of my guildies needs help.

Personally, I am not grouping with anyone apart from Master Rangers. I see no reason why I should bless the rest of the community with an extra 40% when I get nothing from it. If they have pushed it live and not listened then don't be surprised if requests from people to group with them and hunt also falls on deaf ears.

I'd advise every Ranger to do the same.

TC is as useful as ever, some bugs get ironed out, feedback about many other issues is ignored as always (or partly attempted to be adressed and then feedback on that specific part gets ignored) and the publish goes live with major bugs reported by TC people still in it :/.

As I said before, I will only hunt with other MR as we seem to understand each other's needs. Even if a group would offer me 1M to hunt with them I'd decline just out of principle....

So D'nara/DaveG when shall we hunt and get some nice 40% on our harvesting abilities?

I heard rumours about good insect meat on dath this time of year...

Sounds good to me, Dari - the only group I'm joining from now on is one that involves you, me, DaveG or my guildies.

I've got to say I'm disappointed but I'm not surprised. We've seen this before that they put stuff on TC, and put it live without letting it being tested properly on TC.

The last one I'm aware of was the creature resource recycler. They got away with it because things generally worked, but they put the thing live before anyone even managed to assemble one on test center. Typical dev behaviour.

For the record, this whole episode has had me so mad that I've not even been able to bring myself to log into the game.

I thought you were missing, Dave! Assumed you were on TC, giving the changes a good testing but i know what you mean.

In this case it was tested and presented and still ignored.. so what's the point of going thru the trouble on TC...

Well, we miss you! So lets come back and demonstrate the Rangers power by not grouping with others, but only with eachother

Edit for clarity

I didn't go to test center because the only result that I felt was important was an obvious one, you harvest more grouped than solo. That was the definition of the subjectunder testing. I understand someone had to do it, but it seemed the second job we had to do not the first. Apart from that, I was being rather distracted from the topic at hand with the way things went around here.

Hi guys,

Before we start knocking TC, and by inference the players who make that their home and work their characters there just like you do on Live, please be aware of a few facts.

Things are tested, on TC-Prime and TC-whatevers, data is fed back to the Dev's. Changes ARE made but sometimes there are publish deadlines and requirements that prevent ALL changes being put in place before the Publish to Live.

However, many of the things that go through 'un-fixed' can be sorted in a Hotfix later. That's why you get a publish on, say Tuesday and a patch on Thursday. They will have been working on some of the patches before the Publish went Live, you don't think they come up with this stuff 'overnight'

It is disappointing to say the least to be left in the position where you fell that something you flagged up has been ignored. But ALL the testing that folk did, on TC-Gorath and TC-Prime, with regards the harvest changes now goes to provide data on which a proper fix can be developed rahter than a quick fix 'tweak' squeezed in before the Publish today.

All the best,
ken

Why have publish deadlines that over-ride obvious problems though? Because of sticking on a patch a few days later, it's kind of nullifying that they met their deadline in the first place, given what is produced.

I think people would be a lot more patient and understanding if they said they were delaying a publish so that they were getting things right, rather than letting us all see what mistakes they've made, which are inevitable in the development process. Just why let us have to live with them until they fix them? That's what test center is meant to be for.

Example: We'd be waiting and maybe a little anxious waiting for a new publish, but we'd all be assured that it was going to be good. Rather than as things are, I know most people I know (including myself) dread patches coming out because there's a load of problems afterwards. Like I said, I know there are enevitable problems, it's an unbelievably complex peice of software, but please, the test center is there to catch these things, so why put the bugs and mistakes to live before you fix them, when you're going to fix them anyway?

Regard these are rhetorical questions because I know none of us here can't answer them. They're just highlighting the things that SOE does which cause us to get irritated.
