The talk about the Tatooine oases reminded me of something I did a while back that actually meant fun for others in the game. I had shown a few old skool day 1 players the oases, and taught them how to fish. They had fun! And had NEVER fished before. They thanked me for having a good time.
Other times, seeing as I know Naboo quite well, I show some people some of the nifty lil locations I've found, like the lone Dath tree with the torch and skulls, the Naboo geyser, or the lone rancher at that cool lil' fishing camp in the south of Naboo. I'm sure there are many other such quirky locations. The point is, they loved seeing these lil spots too.
How many of you have shown others lil spots you've found, and amazed other players with them? To me, those lil subtleties are as much content as the huge contrived quests.
Tour, anyone?

would be good if they added a whole load of new pois and smaller things like the stuff u stated, didnt give the waypoints to anyone but somehow gave subtle clues to rangers (dependent on skill level)
that way ppl would have that cool feeling when u stumble across something unexpected (personally i woulda preferred not to have the sarlacc pit for eg in my datapad and to have just come across it on my travels)
Rangers would then become the 'knowledgeable of the secrets of the forest' kinda ppl i expected em to be... taking a select few into the new locations they discover and guarding teir secrets jealously
Prehaps even some caves that can only be enterred if grouped with a ranger
imagine u see a large rocky outcrop covered with weed, a rnager can find that hidden little nook where you can part the weeds and slip into the cave behind
that would be cool
and thats comin from someone who only has 2 ranger skillboxes

Great ideas, but imagine the /tells you'd see from Jedi then! There are some POIs not in the datapad. I'm a bit cynical because of the recent broo-haha over tracking for Jedi; please ignore it.
I would love to see more POIs, larger total area for the current planets, and NEW planets (Ord Mantell, for instance, or Hoth; even Sullust, Ithor, or Geonosis). All of that would just add to the joy of being a Ranger. The idea that Kessel can only be reached from certain spaceports is OK, except that I know of no one who has actually been there. Presumably, no one lands. Wouldn't that be interesting?

I understand that, but imagine if one could. That was my point.

I grew up in Alaska and miss it terribly, so Hoth would really be a welcome bit of head candy for me.
Make it a planet-wide no-build zone and require cold weather protective gear. Create a couple of scattered Smuggler Bases and add some Rebellion scout personnel for flavor. Ranger camps could be meetpoints, then, from which people stage hunting expeditions. Yeah...

and if we get cold on Hoth... we can always cuddle with a wookiee.
for some "just friends" spooning.

I was going to say something about a wookiee skin jacket, BUT, I like the idea of some 'friendly
' spooing...
