I think this means if that 1000OQ Avain Spawns on Talus, you'll have more than a day and a half to harvest a few hundred units.

It seems like amidst the harvesting formula changes we have all missed the fact that the patch notes indicate that the quality of spawns will be increasing and that *rare* *uber* spawns will become less *rare*.

How do YOU think this will impact rangers?

IMO, I think that it will likely be even in the end, and here's how: *uber* spawns will no longer draw drastically disproportionate CPUs... i.e. best avian ever at 350cpu and avain that is still good and does the job only going for 100cpu. However, I'm thinking that this will be balanced out by having consistant spawns of resources that sell in the 35-65cpu range. I also think that this will help profs with lower margins (namely BEs) who willnow have better access to quality meats in greater quantities.

We'll see how this turns out. Personally, I hate hunting avian, so better spawns of carnivore meat is great since it's more fun to harvest.

I'm not claiming by any means that my little theory is right... it's just my initial thoughts. So I'm prodding you all to see what you think about the improvement to spawn stats.

I think that only relates to inorganics (and foods). Rare stuff that doesn't spawn often, and is a specific requirement for components should be more frequent now, rather than not being available for weeks or longer sometimes.

Since creature resources are always there, I don't think this will affect us. (at least, as far as I understood this change)

Harvesting / Resources

  • Increased the amount of resources spawned, so that rare resources will be slightly more common.

So that's the note from the patch I was referring to. After looking at it again I'm confused. I suppose it's not referring to the "quality" of resources at all is it. In that case, what do they mean? Do they mean that avian will not be dropping in higher quantities or something?

And I was about to reply by asking: why is it listed under "harvesting changes" then?... until I realized the category is called "harvesting and resources".

Ok, so is that it... oops... maybe I just need to go back to school and learn how to read.

Nothing to see here folks... move along.

Hehe.. Yeah, actually I wasn't sure what to make of it last week on TC. I thought we were going to be seeing an increase in normal amounts that we harvested, and at the same time higher quality. Until I went out and the first few hides I harvested were in the single digits for OQ & SR. I wasn't thinking of resources in terms of "inorganics" either.

And in our own defence... the notes were listed among a throng of other stuff directly related to creature harvesting and creature resources. The notes could have been more clear.

I do not know if this counts, but I ran into 3 different spawns of Giant Peko Peko today on Naboo. They were all situated in far East corner of the map.
