i got to say when you sit back and look at the changes made in this patch it has done us as rangers more good than harm!!!
when you lok at the upgrades:
1, and improved chance of getting eggs when searching a lair plus the opption to search more than once, which when i tried it out i proved to have a great success i only got 1 jar of bugs for 30 lairs.
2, improved the amount of milk when milking this as worked out quite well too, but i still get the warpping from time to time. then on tat you got the extra burden of all the good milking site are full of krayt dragons now which realy puts the /mask scent skill to the test
3, players now get a harvest bonus of upto 40% when grouped with master rangers, which can't be a bad thing unless you like to do your hunting on your own
so to sum things up we aint done that bad out of this patch really or have we??
thats my thoughts on this patch.

I grouped up and went hunting with a Scout from my guild. He needed XP to advance along the Jedi path and I needed hides, lots and lots of hides.
I was a bit apprehensive at first because of the changes. Change is always difficult to accept, but is especially difficult when it impacts one's livelihood.
However, after about an hour of intensive hunting, I decided that I really did like the changes. The Scout pulled more by being grouped with a Ranger. I pulled more simply by being grouped. I could get used to this. It will certainly make me seriously consider grouping with others for these big jobs; I was able to pull far more off the corpses than alone.
Milking was very good. One small herd of pickets gave me almost 700 units of milk in about 15 minutes. That's not bad at all. Success milking bols was similar, though I don't remember the exact amount now. Our chef is ecstatic.
If you are out to hunt for profit, as we have all done from time to time, take a few Scouts with you. Grouped with us, they pull far more than normal and we pull more ourselves. Have them contribute their own harvests to yours at the end of the day, minus any reasonable amount they can themselves use; this is often nothing, Bounty Hunters don't make traps, right?
Relax; we're still the master hunters (jagermeisters?). Overall, I like the so far.

I completely agree.
I did very much the same thing last night, grouping with a day-one Novice Scout. It's sort of like having a crate of Veghash that you can talk to. And the egg harvest and milk harvest (consistantly the most profitable resource out there) is great.

I had been totally annoyed that the Devs say that they wanted to discourage Solo groups, but then screwed harvesters by creating group penalties.
This patch rules in my opinion by doing the following:
Huge benefits for hunting in groups. Before if two Novice Rangers hunted together consider the following:
Imagine a creature with 100 units. In group you'd havest about 60 units (my guess)
If you had two Novices, you'd each get 60. so as a pair you'd get 120.
Now consider,
Where you'd get 100 solo, you now get 130. Your buddy gets 130. So together you get 260.
The differences are huge. Why would you want to hunt solo anymore. You get a buddy to pull your donkey out of the fire you kill faster, take home more meat. The professional hunter just got a whole bunch of love.
