What happened to all the info on creature protections and attacks that used to come up when you examined a creature ?

I was a little put back by this too.
It seems as though a any schmo off the street now has the same creature knowledge as a master ranger.
Sounds strange to you too eh... huh.

Some creatures I examined just said "it looks weak to you."
The best I've seen?
Name:
Aggressive:
Stalker:
Tamable:
Meat:
Hide:
Base to-hit:
Damage:
Con:
That about wraps it up, and not necessarily in that order either.

I tested this last night. I created a noob char on another server and went hunting.
Upon examining the dead critter, I got the same info as my Ranger (only lacking MR box).
Same thing on examing the critters before entering combat.

Does the examine window really matter now except to see what type of hide/meat a creature has? All resists/vulnerabilities are gone so damage type doesn't matter with creatures anymore. I used to use between 3-4 pistols pre cu depending on what creature I was attacking. However, now it appears that you just find your highest dps weapon and use that. I hope that the creature knowledge skill is replaced with something useful once we get our revamp.

I would say it does, as some creatures have more resists to kinetic (melee weapons) with various types of elemental damage, and ranged (runted boars for example lvl 80 now, and a group i was in had problems with them as most of us where melee classes)

I could be wrong but I don't think that creatures have resists/vulnerabilities anymore with the change in armor. I have a suspision that kenetic versus energy now only matters with PvP and maybe some NPCs. Then again I'm just guessing and basing this off my game experience thus far.

I agree. Before the CU a Malkloc Plainswalker had 100% resistance against kinetic damage. Twice I fought one with TKM and did zero damage to it. And once I watched two rancors attack one and they did zero damage. Post CU I took my TKM up against a Plainswalker and I was able to kill it.
