Thread: (observations) I dropped Ranger...

..on the day the CU went live. But only on Kauri. 
I still have my TC ranger & Wanderhome rangers, and with 4000 scout, I'm still a ranger at heart.
I just got burned out and needed to try something different to renew my interest in the game.
My new template: Master Rifleman, Master Carbineer, BH 0404.
However, it's given me a new perspective on Ranger. I really miss tracking..
On the other hand, I've found myself not missing camps, traps or camo kits at all. I think that says a lot about their current state. Hopefully, the revamp will focus on those, rather than creature harvesting.
Until then, I'm giving the CU a chance. I'm having more fun with my new template than I've had in a long time, and there are a lot of changes I like.
The night before the server went down for the CU, I set up my very last camp. It was outside Coronet on the riverbank, the city I started the game in, and the place I saw my very first HTFB. I camped for a short bit, and then headed back to my house over the hill to log off. It's funny looking at the picture now, because I didn't even realize the sun was setting.. haha.. Kind of fitting, I guess.
I didn't feel bad dropping master ranger and respecing to other skills the next day.. But I look forward to having fun with something else for now, and starting from scratch one day when the ranger revamp happens.

I wouldn't go so far as to say you dropped being a Ranger but more that your temporarily misplaced your master tag. One day you'll find it somewhere on Endor or some other planet under a bush or above the head of some Mokk. Just remember, once a ranger always a ranger.

I too respec'ed out of Master Rangerdom. I'm currently MBH/MSmuggler... and having fun with it. Still, I'll always be a ranger at heart. Maybe when SOE stops trying to claim that "Ranger is not a combat profession", I'll be back.

I'm a "RETIRED" Master Ranger too andIm enjoing a similar Template of M. Rifleman/ M. Pistoleer/ BH 0044 at the moment too. I see thinks as you do.Just missthe tracking, otherwise Im having fun with this new template. We should get pensions!
