Thread: Medic skills??

Hello,

I have an odd question. I am working my way up to Master Ranger, or at least I'd like to. I am currently at Master Carbs, Master Scout and Ranger 4440 and Novice Medic. My question is this.. given the insane number of sp Ranger now takes, How are you able to go out and hunt without having any medic skills? How can you survive? Without a MCM or Doc in your group... how can you solo anything ...???

Its just frustrating to not have the skills that a Ranger should have.. they are the ultimate survivalist.. they should have at least basic medic skills..

End Rant

You dont need medic skills to use stims anymore.

I used to be a Master Ranger/Pistoleer with novice medic for stim Bs.

Currently I am a Master Ranger/BH with no other skills. I am making out just fine, using stims I have left from before the CU. I just went and maxed out as many FS boxes as I could to add speed and defense to my character. And Luck too.

Use traps. I find if I start with a P dart, then drop the creature with a KD, the creature sometimes just stands there, letting me drop shots in at will. Worst case is the snare drops and the creature wanders after me. Throw another pdart and the creature slows measurably and usually stops again.

I was dying with amazing regularity until I figured that traps would keep my happy self alive longer.

I think it is from CL35-59 buy good stim Cs.

From CL60 on up use good stim Ds. My daughter makes Stim Ds that hit 950.

You can find better but she hates making meds so I get what I get from her.

What JB said P-darts are your friend I have a factory cranking them out now.

another odd question

Between my two toons I have a equipment factory and a food/chem factory. So I can turn out plenty of traps and such, can I use the food/chem factory to make stims if I have the schem and ingredients??

Stims from food factory, traps from equipment factory.

I'm a 3333 medic right now, but I'm going to have to drop it.

I liked playing a medi, natrually someone who spends a lot of time out in the middle of nowhere is going to pick up some basic medical skills, and it's fun to heal friends too....

But anymore it's not worth it anyway, medics can't heal wounds, and you can buy stim packs that'll heal more than medic skills can give you.... (it's nice alternating between bacta and stim though, I can stay alive much longer....)

Medic changes are some of the things I'm most sad about (aside from all the bugs....)

.... I was going to say something else, but I'm posting from work and my train of thought keeps getting derailed......

You've had more luck with P Darts that I've had, all I've done is make them shake their head for a sec, then tick them off.....

You are only able to use one stim per minute which is a huge disadvantage with A's and B's.

Medic 0/0/4/0 gives you a 'stim free' 300 point heal every 15 seconds, and post CU youonly need medic 4/0/4/0 to get Novice Doctor at which point, as you say, you can heal wounds again and give yourself and others a small health buff.

As to whether it is worth the sp. I dunno.

I don't think you have enough points... but I haven't checked with a skill generator. I am pretty sure you will be about 11 points short for that combo though.

Remember that they dropped the SP requirements.

CM no long requires Ranged Support? That is the only requirement I can think of that they would drop that makes sense. If that is true then you should be able to do it with quite a few skill points left over.

Now viability is another thing. If poisons work the same way they did pre-CU you could do pretty well I think if you have a bit of patience and ability/strategy to endure while the poisons tick.
