I finally got my smuggler character on TC5 down to Tat this evening. I ran a couple missions out of Espa just to try out the new combat system "in the wild." After I finished off my Zucca Boar lair, I came across some Banthas. Naturally, first thing I think is "milk 'em." I went up to the darlin', brought up the radial, and sure enough, collect milk was one of the options. When I selected it, I was told the critter was too spooked to be milked. I tried /maskscent, and the system said I didn't posess the skills to do it.

Maybe I'm hoping against all hope, but perhaps this is a sign that at least scout might be coming back in some form or another?

Also, I was reading on the NGE Trader test forum, and they are scared to death about creature resource prices under the new system becausehides/bones/meat of any typedrop fairly rarely.
