My alt is ranger and i retired him after hearing the news, my main is jedi, it sux for us but i must say you guys are getting the worst end of this deal......promises made for ranger and now elimenateing the proff. all together 
All I can say is that rangers were very rare and when you seen one you knew that the person playing had a passion for the game to grind that proffesion.

There, fixed for ya. Rangers typically don't "grind"...
