I've just read through the correspondant post on the Corr Summit Meeting, and I didn't read anything mentioned about the promised changes to the ranger's abilities that were posted here http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=ranger&message.id=5725Now I know some of these changes have been implimented, but is there any proposed date when we can expect abilities like the proposed /track command to be implented?

As far as I am concerned, that post is so old and outdated that it can be used as a guidline (i.e. I have based a /track proposal on that post), but no longer thought of as fact. There is no ETA for any changes to Ranger.

I don't think that should be forgotten, no matter how old the post is. If these changes were promised, is there anyway to bring this issue to our corrisponant so that they can get at least some info on it as to whether or not these promised changes are in fact still on the board?

That would be Calc. FYI

The correspondant is the guy with the big blue name tag. he's also known 'round these parts as Mr. Chocalate Bunny Man. but that's neither here or there.
Point is, the problem is known by all, including our correspondant. Problem is, they already have a schedule of changes. Combat Revamp, JTL, smugglers, Squad Leaders and perhaps a mini-entertainment publish to update missions are all on the schedule already. At this point there is nothing to do but 1) wait. 2) come up with more ideas. 3) Whine incessantly. 4) Walk away from the game.
Right now, I'm taking options 1 and 2. They are, in my mind, the most productive options. I think option 3 solves nothing, and only serves to disrupt the strong, supportive community the Ranger forum has come to cultivate. Option 4 removes the hassle, but also forces you out of all the good things about the game. My recomendation is to find new things to do in the game if you've become bored. Me, I'm sticking with my Rangery ways, and using them to slowly (but surely) move up the Jedi trees. It helps me to stay motivated. Try changing your character or even starting a new character on a different server. I assure you there is plenty to do and plenty to see in this game, if you only put your mind to it.
Right now, there are a lot of great idea on the table, so when we do get our turn, I am sure that our correspondant, as well as the more vocal members of the community, will be sure to push the Ranger ideas forward. Until then, we really are in a bit of a lull. I for one have taken this oppourtunity to think up new and inventive nicknames for our fearless leader (well, okay, he fears Owen-Lars eating his delicious, delicious ears). Go ahead! Try one for yourself. It makes you forget the ingame woes.

How about giving a ranger a crossbow or something that can be made from a weaponsmith, and the ammo/arrows made naturally from natural resources for instance Bantha Hair and Wood. How about giving rangers the ability to climb trees or make tree houses as safe havens termporarily above the ground as an extension of the camp ability.
Just Some thoughts

Gotta stop considering us like a D+D fantasy ranger... We are not and never should have been that in this story. We are spies, assassins and proprietiers of needed things =p. We are a nice mix of the special forces and secret service.

Hmm Idk I wouldnt mind shooting a crossbow at some pesky rebels to get them to run at one of my proximity mines
But seriously. Although the game is "A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away" That doesnt mean we should be based on fantasy rangers.

There was actually a big push to let Master Ranger get the Bowcaster cert awhile back. Wookies didn't like it.
We let the wookies win.
It's better that way. ![]()

I would much rather have a kinetic damage carbine...like say scatter carbine at novice and high-capactiy scatter carbine at Master Ranger. and the devs can model it after my pimped-out 11-87 with the ghost-ring sights/collapsable M-4 style stock/ forend light/ extended mag! Imagine the look on a smugglers face when you burst through their door to intercept their spice shipment...

A crossbow? A crossbow? A crossbow?!?!?
I want sharks! Sharks with freakin' laserbeams attached to their heads!
... but yes. We should get a Master Ranger-certed weapon. Squad Leaders, Smugglers, Combat Medics, Bounty Hunters and all the other ranged hybrids get one.
I would however prefer it if our weapon would come in the form of a schematic, in order to support the crafters out there, instead of adding it as a loot-item on some Mustafar MOB connected to Obi-Wan' spirit.

It should abolutely be a crafted weapon! Loot weapons are rarely as good as crafted ones and there is no room for customization (Do I max damage, SAC or speed, what enahncements can i get a hold of.....).
