OK, so I did the respect on my toon on the Corbantis TC last night. Here is what I found inititally. When I did the respect I had no idea how to read the skill screen or how to use the new keymap. Would be helpful to put a cheat sheet on these items. When you are done with the respect you will be in the starport in your boxers, so make sure you clean them before CU2. I am able to wear my padded armor though.

I did respect to Spy. Here are some of my opinions so far about the respect and about Spy.

Pros:

  • The new special skills are very cool. I really dig the poisons.

  • The movement is relatively the same except you cannot use the mouse, just the arrow keys.

  • I found aiming not to be hard, wierd, but not hard.

Cons:

  • Make sure you have a lower level weapon before CU2 hits in your inventory. I am a level 80 but I cannot use my Adv. Laser or T-21 rifles because you need to be a level 88 to use them.

  • I cannot figure out how to repair my swoop. I make it to the garage, but then who knows how to repair it.

  • Then here is the kicker. I still have my traps, cammo-kits, and camps in my inventory. I thought (could be wrong) that when we respect that all items not used in the game will be changed to the profession you picked or to something useful in the game. When I tried to use the traps or camps it stated that I did not have the necessary skills to use them. Does this mean that there is another profession that will be able to use these items or will I be stuck with a thousand traps, cammo-kits, and camps?

Those are just a few things that I discovered while playing my toon on test center for an hour last night.

Actually, I'm hoping they DON'T forcibly convert stuff like that that's been dropped from the game into something new. My bunker house is becoming my Ranger Lodge, top to bottom, and will be a bit of a "shrine to all things Ranger" - including sample traps, camps, camo kits, etc. I'd be very sad if I couldn't at least hold on to a piece of what we once were...
