Been giving the NuRanger / Spy thing a try on TC and, while it's got traps up at the top end of the skill tree and comceals, it just
doesn't 'feel' Ranger. Maybe it's the new community, dunno.
Getting aggravated over little things tho, I mean, a profession called "spy" that's got a uniform and profession tags declaring "HEY EVERYONE I'M A SNEAKY SKULKING SPY GUY".... Then again, the idea of any sort of skullduggery left the building when they revamped jedi and it was your main toon (the one who did the unlocking) that became the jedi and your alt was the anonymous newb.
Always preferred it whenyou could never be sure who these no badgers were...
Ah well, I guess it's a young persons game now and continuity and sense can go fish. Isstead we'll have Fun and Exciting stuff.

I'd say Bounty Hunter is the next closest thing to being a Ranger. Rangers and NGE Bounty Hunter's both track, trap, and hunt. Humanoids intead of animals and looting instead of harvesting. We'll be very Rangeresk while sporting our old Ranger tags while lobbing snare traps at our marks.
