At some point over two years ago I became one of Kettemoor's first Rangers. From launch I made a beeline for the profession. For a while my guild was a premiere harvest supplier.
Yet in all that time I never mastered it. Much of the tree, especially Frontiering, seemed useless and skill points were scarce. Mastering was something I'd eventually get around to, for kicks and a badge, when I could take a break from combat skills.
Now time has run out, so I just mastered it. One of Kettemoor's last.
We all like different things about our professions; the skill that most kept me a Ranger was camoflauge. Before the first CU, camo plus a rifle made it possible to go without buffs and composite, even on Dathomir. After the GCW changes I could be a Rebel combatant and still sneak past stormtroopers, with the thrill I might get found out. And I could finish a quest in the Spiderclan cave without firing a shot.
You can guess where I sat on the "maskscent is better" debate.
The post-NGE vet rewards will be nice but I'll especially prize my Master Ranger badge. Thanks everyone who stuck with the profession and lobbied to make it great.

/gratz!
I think seeing the Last Rangers is almost the worst part. It mean's the end is coming.
remember to put the camp fire out, btw.
