Thread: A funny thing happened this evening...

This evening, like the past few evenings, I've been hanging around the place I call home, Tatooine. (shock horror a ranger as a home! well to mitigate myself a bit, it's not my house but I share the maintence, and have one and two halve rooms to myself, and a storage house next door). I'm "on holiday", and I've been spending my "holiday" doing pro-bono work. Namely training a newbie who wants to follow the path of the ranger.
My student and I were wandering around, we'd done some hunting, but now we were tracking, unlike me, she'sa novice CH, so I was helping her find young creatures to tame. While I was sat waiting for her to do some training, I came across this other newbie guy, who sat with me and we talked for a while.
Now at this point I have to emphasise that since I attained master ranger, I wear the "Master Ranger" tag with pride.
Then my student came over to us as she was ready to go looking for more. So I duely got up and did some tracking. Once I started reeling distances and directions, this other newbie exclaims...
"WOW!"
"Can you really area track?"

Some guildmates were talking in channel about types of mobs and what kind of resists they had. Rancors were mentioned, and since I was on Dath and near some, I did a quick exam and rattled off all its resists and vulnerabilities. They asked where I got that all from, and when I told them, even one of the vets was surprised. "You can find out all THAT?"
Apparently, they had no idea we could find out what resources they drop, what their special attacks are, and if they deathblow or stalk, too. (Among other stuff.) Gotta love wowing people!

Yup, we get some nice additional info.
One of the melee types that goes on hunts with me from time to time ( love having a two legged tank that can answer back, am sorry CH's but there are times whena pet just ain't enough for a guy) he's wailing on some critter or such and only making slow, slow progress.
I did an exam on it and it had, oh lets just BS this for once, like 120% kinetic resist. "Uhm, why not use your hammer... it's not got blast resist" says I
"How in **** do you know that?"
So I told him, he flat out didn't believe me. Had to send a screeny over later, lol.
Just wish to heck I could remeber what it was he was pummelling, faamba maybe? /blank look

Holidays? Yep, got to love them. Am off getting the last couple of badges I need before P10 and just enjoying doing greenhorn stuff again, grabbing screenies for my scrap book, blah.
Been taking some new folk out from Eisley, splatting bugs and critters for FUN again. Scary though to see what happens when a ranger lets loose at a pack or yard trash with a good pistol... little X's all round the place.
And yeah, rangers do have houses too. Even though, of late, mine (on Tat, love that dustbowl) has been somewhere I arrive at, drop off my stash of stuff and misc loot, pop out a factory to churn some traps or PuPs and log for the night before heading off the next day for another week or so.

one time i mentioned in guild chat about tracking something and one of the members didnt know what it was and once i explained he was amazed by it. another time in a cantina another player exclaimed that i was only the second master range he has ever seen. oh and im glad to see im not the only ranger that goes on vacation actualy im on mine now lol told the guild no hunting for organics i dont care what spawns lol. its time for me to go visit pois and such. lol

My fav things.....
Walking in to a town and tracking guildmates. then them say are you stalking me. Fun factor 110
Setting up camps near Moseisley and listening to the ooos and ahhhh's. Fun factor 99
Telling a new surveyor on Lok Dont go that way you gonna get into a Kimo nest and there X number. they troddle off not thinking i know what im saying. 20 seconds later seeing them run yelling help with 6 on him.. PRICELESS!!!
I have 3 houses. Storage/storage/My loot showcase. 2 town on lok. I may place more. keep xtra gear in them to save travel expences. Always place them as close to a city as possable to keep the wild areas clear.
