I was just looking in on the In Concept forum listings and I see Squad Leader (ok they do need help) and Smuggler Revamp discussions as well as Entertainer/Image Designer quest revamp discussion but NO mention of Ranger at all! Ranger has been in need of a revamp since launch. We have been thrown a few bones but nothing major has been done to fix our class. In fact, some of the changes/additions they have made to the game have actually made us even LESS useful than we were at launch.

Come on, Devs! Rangers need some SERIOUS lovin'!

I hope to get some attention during the CB (that will be the earliest we can expect any medium level changes).

Reading around on the forums, dev priority:

GCW revamp

On the sidelines: Squadleader/Smuggler/Entertainer/small fixes

JTL is scheduled for (late) october. CR will be implemented in small chunks post JTL. I got the impression that GCW is scheduled during the last stages of and postCR (with the impact of CR on PvP being clear).

Pure speculation: Now we're one to three months into 2005. Part of the team will work on new content for ground/space and part will work on fixing things. IIRC GreenMarine was the dev for smuggler/squad leader/ranger so it is possible he will be put to work to finish our profession as well as other devs will be reassinged to the professions they were originally responsible for.

After this the whole team can work on improvements and added content.

Officially: The CR will affect us (either directly by improvements to Ranger or indirectly by the changes to combat and our combat profs) but no planning for ranger changes specifically.
