Hi guys.
I'm from the Farstar server and i'm a Master Rifleman and TKM and im getting a little bored of the game (bad pvp and stuff).
I was thinking in dropping one of my prof and going for Ranger, but i'd like a little help (i've read the sticky). What prof should i drop? I'm thinking in keeping Master Rifleman.
Other thing, whats the best way to grind Ranger? Ok, doing lots of hunts, but where? Rancors?
Any advice to give to a Ranger Wannabe?
Last question, i once heard that a long time Rangers could put an covert player, overt? True? Can they now too?
Sorry for all the questions.
Best regards

I'm Master Riflefish with Ranger 0040 as part of my template and I think it is important that you keep the ranged profession in yours. Rangers get a creature to-hit bonus which is only applicable to ranged professions. Plus I also think that Ranger has a more ranged feel to it anyway.
I managed to get Ranger 0040 in about 3 hours of hunting enraged rancors, so yeah they're definately the best thing to hunt imo
As for making people overt, I think thats wrong - I've never heard of that and you may be confusing it with putting camoflauge onto other people?

Both are really good with Ranger...TKM, of course, allows you to stay on the hunt a bit more (meditate) while rifles give good damage, different types, and or course range. Which is your favorite of those two profs? I would go with whatever you like better.

Hi there,
I'm on FarStar too by the way!
I'd recconmend rifleman. With TKM, you're going to need armour, and probably a lot of buffs, and build up battle fatigue a hell of a lot faster. Given the first two points, it's going to be cheaper for you to get rid of TKM because: (A) You're not going to go through your armour as fast, and (B) All you need to buy is brandy, you can do without paying 15K every 2 hours for a buff. This isa considerable factor if you become a professional hunter.
I know TKM can use meditate to get rid of wounds, well even scouts can heal their wounds by sitting in their camps. I know meditate also get's rid of poisons and disease, but in most cases they pass off in a few minutes without doing much lasting damage anyway. So I'd think that if you keep TKM and go Ranger, then your meditation and your camps will make each other redundant. If you can meditate why camp, and if you can camp why meditate?
Since you already have master rifleman, you can down most things without even needing armour most of the time (and armour encumbres your regen, of special consideration when doing special shots).

i was a professional hunter for 6 months and made tonnes of cash... my template was
marksman 4004
master rifleman
novice medic 2310
master scout
ranger 4040
this work excellent for hunting....rifles can kill any foe in seconds also save ur armour as contact is very briefs when nasties ever do get close. could kill a rancor in 5-6shots with a dx rifle and take about 5 rancs on at once with strafeshot2
the med allows u to use very strong stim b's fast and givs u the drag ability good for saving any frineds and stop bleed which is a life saver with the new specials that npcs do now.
ranger 4040 givs you the best harvesting and terrain negotiation u will ever need!
not every ones cup of tea but it sure worksed for me!

I am not sure what you mean, but there is a website called www.swgcraft.com where you can look up the current resource qualities on your server (remember that resoruces are different on all servers). You can also see what people are interested in buying if you look at your Server Trade Forum. You can then go to www.swgcreatures.com and do an advanced search to what creatures drop the resources you are looking for.
