this guy asked me to track him some GDK's
i told him it would cost him 100k per hour, and he told me i was overpriced and that he would give me 100k per kimo found
was i overpriced?
also i was working on some dath insect meat and didnt care for the 100k per kimo

As far as I'm concerned, you ask what you ask based on the circumstances.
If there's a 120cpu carnivore meat spawn going on at the same time, and I'm doing that, I'll charge a hell of a lot more to track down anything than when I'm not really doing anything and just chatting on the guildline.
So no, I don't think you were too expensive, but if someone else did, then good luck to him/her to find someone they can 'afford'.

lol i told him to go find someone else then about an hour later i logged off cause i had to go to work
when i got on that night he askem me if i found any yet

GDK's are one thing.
But there are others who want me to track Krayts. When then balk at my tracking fee of 100-300k depending on my mood and what I'm currently harvesting, I remind them that 1. i can harvest this much stuff worth XX creds in same amount of time and/or 2. they'll ninja loot pearls worth millions--so they can EASILY afford that if i'm to find them more Krayts than they normally can find.
I was helping a friend track a giant krayt for his jedi trials, but towards the latter 2/3's of my buff i decided to take a break. We hadn't found a giant, but lots of canyon and juvie krayts. A power lamer/ninja looter in the group was asking if i'd come back and I'd made some remark about my time not being free (well it was for my friend). What did the power lamer do? Bank tipped me 25k. Wooo! In retrospect, i guess i was fortunate i got anything at all from the pearl-hungry ub3r d00dz types.
I guess the point is people have no idea how valuable our time actually is.
The only reason i quote high is to stop them from sending me tells if I'm not up to tracking.

I'm not really big on tracking, I find it rather tedious because it's so innacurate. So I started charging 100k an hour.
I'm going to raise my price and lower it for people who're nice. 
I was surprised at just how many people think I should just go track for them for an hour or two for FREE so they can find their moisture farmer/CH pet.

I run into the same problems almost everyday.
Someone wants me to find them Black Sun NPC's so they can loot BH armor pieces,and sell for prolly 1mil a piece. First off I can solo a few Black Sun NPC's and loot them myslef, so why would i lead you to them for a few 100k.
GDK I will do, i just tell them if they loot more than 1 scale, I get 1.

Someone asked me to find the tatooine hero quest npcs. At the time I was helping some friends survive a dangerous kreetle attack (they'd been on for a few hours) so I charged him the price of 500K. Suffice to say he wasnt best pleased. I always make up prices on the spot depending on how much I could earn in the time and if I acctually want to do the tracking anyway.
