Scout 4040 would be better and use the points on a power template. No one gets Ranger to be uber, we do it because we like it.
- A swoopbike beats tracking
- Camo only really helps Rifleman with those... if it does not break
- Harvest faster trumps harvest more per.
It is someday hoped that the devs will change this. Until then, if you want to be a ranger, good for you. You will have to settle for a single combat profession, however. Choose wisely.

Hmm depends
.
If you have access to +8 riflespeed in SEA's (not really cheap) so you are speedcapped for all specials as master rifleman just get master ranger. You want to group hunt so there is no need for fancy defenses
.
If however you want to save some cash on sea's the +5 riflespeed from master marksman are worth considering, I used to be Master Marks/Master Rifle/tracking iv for a while with +4 from sea's until I got my hands on some more riflespeed so I could drop master marks
.
In any case, Master Rifleman + 8 extra speed, be it from master marks or post-publish 10 force sensitive enhancement or SEA's, is all you need for being main damagedealer in grouphunts on krayts or kimos (ok, a really decent t21 helps too
).
Oh and a speedcapped Master rifleman/Master Ranger (not only) IMHO is - if played "right" - also outharvesting any other setup you might get together, however some here tend to disagree.

wow.
solid advice. thx to both for the response.
One thing I've noticed about players with Master Ranger is the loyalty to the profession. Several posts reflect a strong affinity towards this mastered profession.
I have Altsthat are geared for PVP, but I wanted this one to be an asset to the people I hunt with and also a template I could make a little cash with too.
Also the harvesting capabilities are appealing too. I can provide for my guild mates needs while stimulating the economy and padding my wallet.

For what it's worthmy Master Rangerharvested over 70K of the new 1000OQ Herbivore meat on Loc this weekend. This is on top of the 64K plus of the 900+OQ Herbivore meat from Naboo. My guild's Doctors will be able to keep me and the rest of the guild buffedfor a LONGtime, from those supplies. That is why I created the Ranger. Plus I can help with various quests or special targest for hunting trips, tracking Peko Albatrosses or Kraytes.
My Alt is a fighter for when I just want to kill.

My personal opinion is , ranger is worth mastering depending on your fighting skill/style, and what you plan on doing.
For instance, if your a rifleman like me. 4/0/4/0 Is ideal for the min skill set. Camoflage does me wonders. However, Traps, i have a hard time with. Its a style that is totally opposite of my headshot3/concealshot method of takedown. So for me, trapping is arguably about as painstaking as camping.
However, if your a melee skillset, well, camo probably won't do you much good since your right up in their face anyway. However, traps for you, is like camo to me, youd bennfit from using them.. often, and could concieveable max that skill out long before i think about the first ranger trapping skill box. None the less, wayfarying is easy for any ranger to max. So to that end, 0/0/4/4 or 4/0/4/4 is probably what your looking at.
So. by now i figure my point is a bout as clear as mud!
How much camping did you want to do?
