Just curious how many rangers out there knew this:
All fish types are the same on all planets, and they all have the exact same color... except for the Striped fish. Every planet has a different color for each striped fish -- they're all yellow, but the color of the stripes differ from planet to planet.
This might be common knowledge for most rangers. But it seems to have escaped most other players.
I have a collection of striped fish from each planet in my house. However, everyone that sees them hung on my wall is surprised to find they have different colors.
I sometimes get offered 25-50k to get a full set of colors for someone who wants to decorate their house. I tell them that it's simply the striped fish from each planet and they could catch them too.. (at which point they realize they'd have to travel to and fish on each of the planets, and then they increase their offer).
I've only known about this since May, but it's surprising how few vets know this since the game is over a year old. Is this new info to some of you, or is it just the players on my server?

Its known but not common knowledge. Since a lot of people dont fish. I believe it was part of the power fishing thread over in the scout forum. But its dug so deep in there you wouldnt catch it. Interesting factoid to pass along

I'm sure I could fish around for that post, but who knows if all the effort would net some reward?

OMG

I did not know that. I fish from time to time, but since I don't have a house, I just destroy the fish containers and sell the meat. So I never payed much attention to the differences between planets.

This was actually added in as a bonus. All fish are meant to be different on each planet but the striped ones are the most noticeable. I have a house with quite a few fish in it but they are all the stock color (even though they are from different planets). This is because I fished them up before they added the change. I know there is a website somewhere that shows all the fish colors. Can't remember the site, though.

Its is not just the striped fish that varies, many do however to much less noticable degrees.

Yet another factiod: if you fish in weedy areas you can snag your line on loot... one in 200 chances, that is.
