I see that at MRanger you get +105. Is there a cap on this like 125? If I use a Harvest Droid as a MRanger, would I get alot more from harvesting?

Thanks for any tips!

Droids add to your harvestbut very little. As for the cap you can use veghash sometimes +30 over your rating. So it will take you above +125.

I'm pretty sure the droid harvesting rate is actually a % effect of what you would normally harvest by hand, and you can stack it with Veghash. But this means that anything below 100 will penalize you. I personally own/borrow a 119 droid, but I seldom use it since they're so slow.

On a second note. That dant wool on Eclipse has served me well. Made ALOT of new AS friends this week

Holy cow, no kidding. That stuff is great. Real soon (like this week), I won't be able to I can't play the game as much as I have for the past couple of months, so this was a huge boon. It's set me up with a very nice nest egg that's still growing--as well as one of 80% composite that I sorely needed, and a spare set. It's even better than that Lok Avian, since it comes in a higher abundance.

I'm waiting for the market to get saturated, though. It'll be a while before armorsmiths want any new wooly.

And I bet we both got our droids from a tent in Fort Krayt...

If you're hunting small game, don't bother with the droid unless you're in ongoing combat or distance harving (rifleman). Just use a strong veghash and harv by hand, you'll be more efficient than waiting for your droid to gen and listen to your commands.

If you're hunting larger game (drops 50+ units with veghash),the rightdroid can help. Of course, it helps the most on the biggest game, such as Rancors. This can be especially helpful for high cpu items--for instance, Eclipse has a Dant wooly hide that's going for 100-125 cpu right now. My droid adds one to six extras per harvest, which comes out to 15 to 100 extra units per lair. That's anywhere from 1500 creds to 10,000 creds extra per lair!

Get the strongest droid you can. The best is an R3 with nothing but harv units; don't bother with any other modules. (Just don't group it, and it won't get hurt.) Shop until you get one that's at least 95 or so. (Too low a droid and it'll actually penalize you.) I've seen them go as high as 119, but that may not be attainable anymore. I think low 100's still is--ask a droidsmith.

A 32+ veghash will still give you better results than any droid will, but remember--it's expendable and costs more than the droid for one case. The droid is for life and stacks with all veghash!

And remember, the droid is not harvesting in ADDITION to you, it's harvesting FOR you, on your command, and so long as you get one that's good, it'll still up the ante.

Eating veghash adds about 30% to your rated harvesting skill as others have posted.

The droid is more complicated. It takes your harvesting ability (including the veghash stack) and applies a multiplier. For example, I have a 107 rated droid that gets about 107% of what I would get. However, if you add a storage module, it will harvest less than you. Add a combat module and it harvests even less.

Now before I get shot down in flames, I know that I've simplified this but my conversation with the droid engineer who explained this was memorably dull rather than simply memorable. Suffice to say there is an absurdly complex formula to work all this out BUT a bug in the game logic affects it in some way.

My own preference is to use a droid on paying missions. For example, bolle bol on Naboo is getting 100cpu or more. Each drops 92 meat - but 99 with the droid. On a good lair you can get 8 harvests. So the droid makes an extra 5-6k per lair. It cost 37k so I think its a good investment.

However, if I am harvesting bone for traps, I have a macro "/loot all; /harvest bone" bound to a hotkey and calling the droid just doesn't seem worth it.

Hope that helps.
