oh god..i thought we were throught with this nonsence.

AFK macros are stupid.

just deal with the time. It really doesn't take that long if you have friends. (they sit in your camps after battles and heal up.

I hate to be rude, and it's sad that I've been so rude lately, but this is just a question that irks me. you're telling me that you don't want to put the time and effort into being a Ranger...but then you want me to HELP you? Not my cup of tea.

Somewhere there is a thread titled "grinders read this first". I believe it was killed after pub 9 because people stopped asking about AFK macros.

okay, I've calmed down a bit. AFK macros piss me off, if you coulnd't tell.

here are some suggestions that don't involve cheating (AFK macros are cheap, whether SOE says so or not)

-go on hunts with some people grinding weapons xp. Be the designated "support" guy. Trap the creature, harvest the corpses and when it's done, set up a camp. Stay in the camp at least 15 with your friends. As you wait the 15min, create a lot of camps.

-go fishing. Fishing gives wilderness XP and you can, if you do the placement right, set up a camp underwater so you can fish from inside the camp. Double the survival XP.

- put a camp outside a noob city. let the players roll in and have a conversation, like a nomal human being.

okies those three things should get you the XP fast. I will not help you AFK grind. maybe someone else will.

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.

I know it seems like it will take forever to do this line, but every trap, camo kit, and camp you craft, every fish you catch, every camp you sit in and med up will give you that xp. Today I was hunting/gathering and got diseased by a nasty critter. I figured this was the most opportune time to do some much needed camping since I would continue to incur wounds from the disease. Sure, it took a long time, but knowing that I wasn't camping just for the sake of getting xp made it more tolerable.

Original message - paraphrased -

Help - I am too lazy and/or impatient to do camping. I want to get it now, and not have to work for it. I am too lazy/stupid to do a search on the scout boards for the macros there, and I have no friends in game that will help me. Can any other morons help me?

As one of the few remaining Rangers who did survival back when the xp requirements were higher than they currently are now, I have room to talk. I did not macro, there was no xp gift for grinding camps out on your craft machine at the time. You made a camp and actually talked to other players. And it was fun.

I would suggest going to Tat, popping camp near Mos Eisley and inviting some noob medics (gee, you are a Ranger, get em some meat for stims free) into your camp. Let them heal other noobs - a win/win/win situation. Everyone gets XP. You may even make some friends.

Failing that, I hear BH will always accept anyone.

Grind camps while fishing while getting your pets and droids to spawn in and out. And do this you need to be.... there

Suvival line is what seperates the trackers from the Master Rangers. I've done it twice and am looking at it a third time. Its not meant to be ground or done AFK

ok you have had your but chewed a few times and it is best to do this non afk. Go to alakazam.com and macros they have some good macros. You can actually do it faster non afk just for a thought.

I, too, did the Frontiering line back when it required more xp. Just after I mastered the Ranger profession is when they changed the xp requirements LOL. Anyway, now I am bringing up a new Ranger on the Flurry server, but I am doing it the old fashioned way - no grinding for me.

Thank you for giving this response Fodder. I am glad that you didn't ASSUME he wanted an AFK macro, as he never stated anywhere that he did.

Another note, crafting camps gives survival xp, and it's the quickest way to level. Actually using camps as they were intended is the most fun way, but no one wants to sit in a camp while hunting, anymore.

When you are going up the traps line you should be making those traps in camp. Hope you were not buying the crates of traps, those are for Masters that don't need it.

Every trap and camp you make gets you survival experience. Might as well drop a camp and make them when you run out. To be honest, I didn't really have to think about "grinding" this, but I did try to max the experience on each one. It's fun to bring friends allong for the ride though

If camping is so boring to you that you feel the need to grind through it, perhaps another profession would be more fun. Why not just play and let the xp take care of itself?

There is no way to disband a camp from with a macro i.e. no disband camp command. There is a work around that involves running an auto target macro that combat classes use to afk grind xp and we all know how much that sucks. However getting into combat does not make the camp disappear, there is a delay before the camp goes away. So you would have to write a complicated macro that first of all deploys a camp, then auto targets out and attacks something, then waits for a while so the camp disappears, then deploys a new camp.

You are much better of camping live and grinding practice camps. This is not too much of a drag for scout camps, but for ranger its a much more dreary proposition. Best thing is just to drop camps every now and again and do a bit of crafting, then go off and do something else when you get bored.
